James W. Adams
Pickens — James W. Adams, 77, husband of Geneve “Jean” Welborn Adams died Monday, March 14, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Adams was born in Pickens County, a son of the late John Talley and Vera Kelley Adams. He was retired from Kent Manufacturing Company in Pickens and was formerly employed with Libco in Liberty. He was a member of Martin Grove Wesleyan Church and was formerly a member of the Pickens Rescue Squad.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jean Adams of the home, son Ray Adams (Faye) of Pickens, a brother Kenneth Adams (Barbara) of Six Mile and a sister Frances Aiken of Anderson. Also surviving are six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was preceded in death by a son, Danny Adams, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens with the Rev. Harold Nicholson officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
