One Voice
Jeremiah Dew gives Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic “I Have a Dream” speech, part of his presentation titled “One Voice: A Black History Narrative,” which combines his performances with video interviews of those involved locally in the Civil Rights movement. Dew, who spoke in chapel Jan. 21 at Southern Wesleyan University in Central, created “One Voice” out of his desire to introduce these great African-American men and women to a younger generation. Dew is also familiar to Greenville Drive fans as the “director of fun and on-field emcee” and to Clemson basketball fans as the “on-court hype guy.”

Dogs never let you down
Dogs are the most reliable of creatures when it comes to being loyal. You can tell a dog anything without having to worry about seeing your secret broadcast on the six o’clock news.
Dogs are also very protective of your interests. Look at Red Dog, our old boxer. He is top dog now and takes those responsibilities very seriously.
He has a squad of loyal soldiers who follow his lead into any situation.
We have a large propane tank in our side yard. Red Dog feels strongly that it is his duty to keep a close watch on this tank and protect it from intruders.
When the propane truck pulls into the yard, Red

Let’s take a look at some of the folks who are passionate about the future of Pickens County. Google “Concerned Citizens of Pickens County.” Look at the passion, the supporting graphs and

My wife, Elaine, originally from New York City, and I dated on Stinking Creek as we met while attending Cumberland College in nearby Kentucky. We often saw other couples sitting closely as we travelled to the sawmill. I can remember telling Elaine, “People can tell if you and I are married.”

SUNSET — The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s Charitable Foundation announced recently that its 2014 giving totaled $60,000, a new record for the eight-year-old program.
The funds, raised throughout the year, are being shared by a quintet of local organizations: Pickens County Meals on Wheels, Pickens County’s Feed a Hungry Child, The Parenting Place, Pickens County Senior Center and Helping Hands of Clemson.

Reserve at Lake Keowee’s Community and Charitable Foundation.
The annual contribution was made possible by proceeds from the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX, held in May, The Reserve at Lake Keowee’s 2014 Charity Golf Classic and auction, held in October, and a percentage of annual real estate sales within the community. The funding, which will have direct and tangible impact in Pickens County, was distributed during a recent presentation event held at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.
