‘Grumpy Old Men’ step up to the plate for Meals on Wheels

LIBERTY — A group from Six Mile, informally known as the “Grumpy Old Men,” is stepping up to the plate to help Pickens County Meals on Wheels raise the necessary funds to purchase the small wares (new pots, pans, and all essential utensils) needed to furnish its new kitchen facility in Liberty.

Over the past 35 years, Meals on Wheels has touched the lives of thousands of donors, volunteers, clients and families. Today,

The Picnic and Prayer meeting held May 27 at the Sarlin library brought participants across communities to enjoy Christian fellowship. The group meets the third Wednesday of every month. Summer art classes for kids and adults planned at museum

PICKENS — The Pickens County Museum of Art and History recently announced that registration is now open for summer studio art sessions for youngsters and adults led by Renee Gillespie.

Nix reunion this Sunday

PICKENS — The annual Nix reunion for descendants of Ulysses and Lou Annie Monroe Nix is scheduled for Sunday, June 7.

The reunion will be held at Northside Baptist Church, located at 421 Sangamo Road in Pickens.

Lunch will be at 1 p.m. Plates, cups and ice will be furnished, and family members are asked to bring covered dishes, desserts and drinks.

 

Fine Arts Center to offer Rhythm Section Clinic

EASLEY — The Fine Arts Center of Easley will present a Rhythm Section Clinic on Tuesday, June 16, at 6:30 p.m., in the Carr Conference Room at West End Hall in Easley.

EASLEY — Rock Springs Baptist Church will host Vacation Bible School from June 15-19.
