Police: Mother killed 2 children, woman

EASLEY — A murder-suicide spanned two counties and took the lives of four people, including two children, last week.
On Thursday afternoon, Greenville City police officers discovered the body of a woman in a vehicle in a parking garage at the Main + Stone apartment complex, according to a release from the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials tout trail’s economic potential at groundbreaking for Doodle Park

PICKENS — Since the opening of the Doodle Trail, local residents and visitors have been using the trail for exercise and recreation.
A new destination on the Pickens side of the trail will give users a place to relax and play.
Officials gathered Friday to officially break ground on Doodle Park.

Coroner names woman killed

EASLEY — The Pickens County Coroner has released the name of the Easley woman killed in a house fire this month.
Coroner Kandy Kelley said Linda Carol Everard, 60, was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire.

Clemson University tuition on the rise again
Board of trustees also votes to honor first black student

CLEMSON — Before presenting a proposed tuition increase to the school’s board of trustees last Thursday afternoon, both Clemson University president Jim Clements and Brett Dalton, the school’s vice president for finance and operations, took time to explain the setting of tuition and fees is dependent on the amount of funding the state provides to the university.

AnMed Health Cannon welcomes ENT Ostrowski
CLEMSON — AnMed Health Cannon recently welcomed Dr. Kimberly R. Ostrowski and the AnMed Health Cannon Medicus ENT to their physician network.
The new practice began seeing patients July 11 at the new office, located at 885 Tiger Blvd. Building A in Clemson.
Ostrowski is board certified in otolaryngology and cares for both adult and pediatric patients. She completed medical school at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and residency training in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery at the MSU McLaren Oakland Medical Center. Her interests as an ear, nose, and throat specialist include management of sinus disease, allergy management, laryngology, salivary diseases and masses, and pediatrics.
