When you bite into a Christmas cookie, you’re doing more than eating dessert. You’re revisiting every past Christmas stored in tastebud memory.

Christmas cookies should jumpstart the celebrations we all look forward to. There’s nothing like walking into a warm kitchen from the cold outdoors with the scent of spices and baking in the air.

Rudolph has become a national treasure

NATION — Adults and children alike are familiar with the tale of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” As the lyrics of the song illustrate:

The Pickens Christmas parade may not have happened as scheduled because of an early snowfall in the area, but you could never tell that by the hundreds of smiles shared by all last Saturday on Main Street. Here are some of the sights to be seen during the event, which was held during daylight hours for the first time in years. There was plenty of candy and fun for all who came to welcome Santa to downtown Pickens. See our album on Facebook to see lots more pictures.
