Meeting spiritual needs

The Rev. Santes Beatty, director of multiethnic ministries within the Wesleyan Church, was the speaker for a series of spiritual emphasis services Jan. 29-31 at Southern Wesleyan University. Beatty spoke about following Christ’s example by crossing social boundaries to meet spiritual needs. He shared how Jesus shared a table with sinners and tax-gatherers to reinforce the call to his audience to cross denominational, generational, political and racial lines to reach the spiritual needs of a hurting world.

 

Dementia caregivers program planned at Foothills Retirement

EASLEY — The Foothills Retirement Community encourages local residents to join a special educational series focusing on the unique challenges presented by Alzheimer’s disease and caregiving for those with dementia.

The free sessions, led by executive director Karen Nichols, will be held each Thursday in March from 6-8 pm in the chapel at the Foothills Retirement Community. Light refreshments will be served.

Baptist Easley recognized for dedication to wellbeing
