Jane Ellen Atkinson Craig

PICKENS — Jane Ellen Atkinson Craig of Pickens died peacefully surrounded by her family on Feb. 27, 2018.

Jane was born on Jan. 8, 1933, in Orangeburg. She was predeceased by her parents, Aubrey Law and Edna Hough Atkinson. Jane graduated in 1951 from Greenwood High School and Winthrop College in 1955. Jane married her husband of more than 60 years, Olin Lemuel Craig, on May 18, 1957. Prior to moving to Pickens, Jane served as executive assistant to the president of Palmetto Baking Company and also as a secretary for

LIBERTY —

he story of a pig in danger and the smart, resourceful spider trying to save him may be geared toward children, but Liberty High School theater teacher Jean Scales Toole says it has a message for everyone.

“I love this story,” Toole said. “I love what it has to say. It is not just a children’s book. If you really listen, there are some true life lessons in this play.”

Annual ‘March For Meals’ kicks off

Pickens County Meals on Wheels joins nation in 16th annual celebration

LIBERTY — Pickens County Meals on Wheels will be participating in the 16th annual March for Meals — a month-long, community-by-community celebration of Meal on Wheels and the vulnerable seniors who rely on the vital service to remain independent at home.
