Local movie with a message makes TV debut

COUNTY — Local talent recently came together to tell a timeless story in a modern way.
The short film “Christmas Possibilities” premiered Monday, Dec. 21, on Roku TV.
“I am very pleased with what they’ve been able to put together,” said Pickens County Council chairman Roy Costner, who wrote the majority of the script. “It’s a 20-minute movie that tells this great Christmas story.”
The movie is the result of discussions had at Costner’s church, Hilltop Wesleyan in Liberty, in October.

PICKENS — Mrs. Ella Mae Popham Holliday, 90, of Pickens, passed away on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, in Easley.
Mrs. Holliday was born in Pickens County on May 8, 1930, to the late Lewis and Florence Searcy Mauldin. She was twice married, first to the late Lloyd Popham and then to the late Bill Holliday. She spent her life as a seamstress and was a member of Bethany Church of God. Mrs. Holliday was a woman who was loved by all — the epitome of unconditional love. Tetter earns Liberty Police Department’s TREE award

LIBERTY — The Thomas’ Recognition of Excellent Employee (T.RE.E.) service award is an annual award that was started in 2019 to recognize the hard work, dedication and loyalty of the workers of the Liberty Police Department.
This year’s winner was Capt. Vic Tetter, who started working at the Liberty Police Department in 2013. Since that time, Tetter has earned three promotions and served the agency well, according to Chief Adam Gilstrap.
