Pickens council field down to 3
PICKENS — Just two weeks out from Pickens’ special city council election, one of the four candidates on the ballot has dropped out of the race to replace Donna Owen on council.
Jonathan Baker, an admissions coordinator at Easley

Market at the Mill plans spring festival
PICKENS — For area festival lovers who were disappointed by the cancellation of the 2021 Pickens Azalea Festival, there is still entertainment and fun on the horizon.
SpringFest ’21 will bring some big-name musical acts, along with festival rides, a car show and more than 150 specialty vendors both inside and out at the Market at the Mill, located at 225 Pumpkintown Highway in Pickens.

SDPC virus CASES KEEP DROPPING
COUNTY — Positive COVID-19 cases and quarantines around the School District of Pickens County

Sculpture unveiled at historic church

PICKENS — “We are gathered at this special place to dedicate a sculpture honoring this special place — Soapstone Baptist Church in the Liberia community,” Clemson University anthropology 
professor Mike Coggeshall said Saturday.
Coggeshall was a part of the unveiling of a sculpture, the work of artist Keith Andrews, on the grounds of the church, which was founded by freed slaves in 1865.
