• Hee Haw Christmas set for Hagood Center

The Hagood Community Center, located at 129 Schoolhouse St. in Pickens, will present Hee Haw Christmas in the Hagood Community Center Auditorium on Dec. 4.

There will be two performances — one at 2 p.m. and another at 6 p.m. The local cast will present good old country music and comedy.

Tickets are $5, in advance only, from Nov. 17-Dec. 1 at the Senior Center on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-11 a.m. or call (864) 878-9999 from 2-6 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

When Thanksgiving rolls around each year, we immediately think of the traditional dishes served at our particular family tables, sometimes for generations.

Just in case you’re looking for a different take on sweet potato casserole, minus the marshmallow topping, check out these recipes.

There’s an unusual savory version minus sugar and others that are leaning toward the dessert end of the table.

PICKENS — Mr. Earl Richard Reece, 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Nov. 10, 2021, he passed in peace.
