PICKENS — The city of Pickens announced Friday it would bill former President Donald Trump’s campaign amid a slew of media reports about the summer visit.

Filing closes for fall races

COUNTY — With election season inching closer, Pickens County’s municipal general election candidate filing period finished on Tuesday, giving voters an idea of who they will see on the ballot in November.
The period, which began on July 18, had filings available for candidates in Central, Easley, Liberty, Norris, Pickens and Six Mile.

End nearing for school district book ban lawsuit?

COUNTY — A months-long legal journey centered around antiracist literature in the School District of Pickens County could be coming to an end after the district filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit.
Nelson Mullins Riley and Scarborough LLP filed the motion last week on behalf of the school district and requested an oral argument, according to court records.

PICKENS — The Pickens Savings and Loan Board of Directors recently announced two promotions. Harold Alexander has been promoted to executive vice president, and Tracey Brock is the bank’s new vice president.

Easley woman hit, killed by vehicle

EASLEY — An Easley woman died Friday after being hit by a vehicle.
Pickens County deputy coroner Tommy Page identified the victim as Donna Brown, 62, of Brookway Drive.
The accident took place on U.S. Highway 123 at Williams Avenue at 8 a.m. Friday, he said.
Brown, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene and died of blunt force trauma, Page said.
The Easley Police Department is investigating.
