Courier Trespass Notices 10-18-23
In the state of South Carolina, trespass after notice is a misdemeanor criminal offense prohibited by section 16-11-620 for the South Carolina Code.
Those who enter upon the lands of others without the permission of the owner or manager shall be deemed guilty of misdemeanor trespassing. All persons are hereby notified and warned not to hunt, fish, cut timber or trespass in any manner whatsoever upon the lands of the undersigned:

NOTICE TO CREDITORS OF ESTATES
All persons having claims against the following estates MUST file their claims on Form #371ES with the Probate Court of PICKENS COUNTY, the address of which is 222 MCDANIEL AVE., B-16 PICKENS, SC 29671, within eight (8) months after the date of the first publication of this Notice to Creditors or within one (1) year from date of death, whichever is earlier (SCPC 62-3-801, et seq.), or such persons shall be forever barred as to their claims. All claims are required to be presented in written statements on the prescribed form (FORM #371ES) indicating the name and address of the claimant, the basis of the claim, the amount claimed, the date when the claim will become due, the nature of any uncertainty as to the claim, and a description of any security as to the claim.

Appalachian Folk Fest is this weekend
PICKENS — The Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the inaugural Pickens Appalachian Folk Festival (PAFF) this weekend.
The enchanting melodies of the Appalachian region are set to echo through the Pickens Amphitheater as the inaugural Pickens Appalachian Folk Festival (PAFF) takes center stage on Oct. 13 and 14.

COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Department of Education released its 2022-2023 School Report cards on Tuesday, showing every school in the School District of Pickens County scoring “Average” or better ratings. The Report Cards, available at screportcards.com, reflect data elements and student performance information from the 2022-23 school year.

Lest we forget
Members of Liberty Masonic Lodge #235 are pictured refurbishing the lot for PFC William A. McWhorter on Saturday. McWhorter, one of the two Congressional Medal of Honor recipients buried in Liberty, was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for smothering the blast of an enemy-thrown explosive with his body, sacrificing himself to protect the man next to him at Leyte in the Philippines on Dec. 5, 1944. PHS athletic Hall of Fame class honored
PICKENS — Pickens High School honored its two-member athletic Hall of Fame class of Kenny Cook and Katie Welborn Gowan during the school’s football game against Westside on Friday night.
Cook, a 1990 graduate of Pickens High School, pitched for the Blue Flame from 1988-1990. For his career, Cook went 23-5 on the mound with a 1.30 ERA and
