Double murder suspect caught

EASLEY — A man wanted in connection with the killings of two people in Mauldin last week was arrested over the weekend in Easley.
According to a release from the Mauldin Police Department, officers received a call at 6:34 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, for a welfare check at a home on Ashby Park Lane.
After arriving at the scene, officers found two people dead inside the home.
The next day, the Greenville County Coroner’s Office ruled both deaths as homicides,

Man charged with driving stolen vehicle

PICKENS — A man was arrested in Pickens on Tuesday after police allege he stole a truck in Anderson County and fled officers in Pickens County.
Kyle Bruce Parris is being charged locally with possession of a stolen vehicle, a second offense of failure to stop for blue lights and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, according to a release from Pickens Police Chief Randal Beach. The Anderson

Elections planned Tuesday

COUNTY — Voters will head to the polls next week to elect new leaders for municipal governments around Pickens County.
Easley, Norris, Pickens and Six Mile will all have mayoral elections on the ballot this year. Two incumbent mayors will be running for reelection, with Easley’s Butch Womack attempting to hold off challenges from David Cox and Lisa Talbert and Norris Mayor Odell Williams
