‘A true friend’

Tinsley remembered as friend, mentor

PICKENS — A fixture in the automotive and banking fields in Pickens County died earlier this month.

Jack Dupree Tinsley died Oct. 20. He was 98.

A 1944 Easley High School graduate, Tinsley worked at Cassells 5 and Dime store and later worked as president of Tinsley Crane Chevrolet for 54 years.

Tinsley was married for 77 years to Carla Jean Crane Tinsley, who served as vice president and secretary of Tinsley Crane

Elections set for Tuesday

COUNTY — Pickens County voters will return to the polls this week to vote on representatives on the local, statewide and national levels.

Appalachian Folk Festival to be held Friday, Saturday

PICKENS — The Greater Pickens Chamber of Commerce announced the return of the Pickens Appalachian Folk Festival, taking place this weekend, Nov. 1-2, 2024.

Police: Man charged in ATV driver’s death

EASLEY — A man faces charges after a wreck with an ATV Friday night that left an Easley man dead.

Pickens County chief deputy coroner Andrew Wilson identified the victim as Kyle Thornall, 37, of Old Vinland School Road in Easley.

HONEA PATH — Mrs. Jane Baker King, 90, passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at her home in Honea Path.

Born in Easley, Mrs. King was the daughter of the late Clarence and Annie Edens Baker. She retired as administrative assistant from Tri-State Fire Protection in 2009. Mrs. King was a member of Columbia Baptist Church, Princeton.

Mrs. King is survived by two daughters, Alta Kayse of Honea Path and Kim Davis (Larry) of Alto, Texas; four grandchildren, Sean Kayse (Cara), Seth Davis (Kasandra), Adam Davis and Reid Prichard
