Pickens DUI suspect indicted for illegally entering country

PICKENS — A man arrested in Pickens in December was indicted last month for unlawfully entering the United States after three previous deportations.

SLED probing shooting of Pickens County suspect

COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has confirmed it is investigating the Greenville County officer-involved shooting death of the suspect in a Pickens County armed robbery last month.
Sean Michael Scates, 45, of Mauldin was shot and killed by Greenville County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Jan. 23, according to authorities.

Lady Lions take down Greer to stay unbeaten in Region 2-4A

CENTRAL — Looking to stay unbeaten in Region 2-4A, the Daniel High School girls’ basketball team hosted Greer on Tuesday night.
The Lions set the tone on the glass early and used a big third quarter to move to 6-0 in region play with a 61-47 win.
All told, the Lions out-rebounded Greer 48-31 on the night with an impressive 28 offensive rebounds, often taking advantage with second-chance points.
