The Pickens County Museum of Art and History will host a program focused on World War I on Jan. 29.

PICKENS — Maj. Brock M. Lusk will deliver a special presentation on Clemson alumni in World War I at the Pickens County Museum of Art and History on Jan. 29.

Topics will include details on the 371st Infantry Regiment, an all African-American regiment of draftees that saw combat action, and who were predominantly from South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina. Also discussed will be Clemson alumni in the Commonwealth Forces, and the legacy of the First World War on both the world and the U.S. military.

The presentation will be held in the LaVonne Nalley Piper Auditorium at the Pickens County Museum and will start at 6 p.m.

Lusk is an intelligence officer with the 315th Operations Support Squadron, 315th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Charleston. He is also a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor’s of Art degree in history, and was commissioned from Air Force ROTC and entered active duty in June 2002. Major Lusk served on active duty as a space and missiles operations officer with the 12th Space Warning Squadron and 10th Missile Squadron. He transferred to the USAF Reserve in 2006 as an Intelligence Officer assigned to U.S. Central Command. Lusk has been mobilized to increasing positions of responsibility since that time, deploying twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Lusk is a Walhalla native and is married to the former Jillian Rokowski of Orlando, Fla. They live in Walhalla with their two dogs.

The presentation is held in conjunction with the World War I exhibit, “Over There: A Pickens County Perspective on World War I,” which includes selected artifacts from the Pickens County Museum collection and highlights the museum’s most recent acquisition, a German MG 08/15 machine gun.
