Arrests made in sex crime
COUNTY – Two Pickens County men face criminal charges following contact with two juvenile females on Facebook.
Alec Grant Holder, 20 of 206 Forest Drive in Liberty was arrested on June 26, at a residence in Pickens without any incident and charged with Criminal sexual conduct with a minor second degree and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Joshua Aaron Dale Haney, 21 of 117 24th Street in Easley was also arrested on June 26 without any incident after he was located in Easley and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to Pickens County Chief Deputy Creed Hash, The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office completed its investigation into an incident of sexual misconduct which all stemmed from an initial introduction over Facebook.
The mother of a fourteen year old female contacted the Sheriff’s Office after learning that her daughter and another female friend had been involved with two men in their early twenties following an introduction over the Internet through Facebook.
The two girls, aged 13 and 12 at the time of the incident, freely engaged into Facebook conversations with the two men and subsequently agreed to meet both subjects in person according to Creed.
Police believe that during the late night hours on a December 2014 evening, the girls left the residence while parents were asleep and were picked up by the men in a vehicle and taken to where the incident occurred.
Haney was booked into the Pickens County Detention Facility and was released on June 27 after having bond set at $3000. Holder is currently being detained within the Pickens County Detention Facility with a total bond set at $23,000.
