WESTMINSTER — After two frustrating weekends of DNPs (did not place), Berkshire-Pickens wrestler Nathan Gilstrap of Liberty, wrestling at 145 lb. Junior, came away with a bronze medal in Greco, Freestyle and Folkstyle competitions at a recent USA Ironman Tournament in Westminster.
Brother Justis Gilstrap in the Schoolboy 140 class took fourth place in both Freestyle and Folkstyle.
The best performance by a county wrestler was Darien Painter of Liberty, representing Pinnacle Wrestling Club, who garnished a silver in Greco and gold in Freestyle and Folkstyle in the Cadet 140 lb weight class.
The Berkshire-Pickens Wrestling Club will travel to Dutch Fork High School this weekend to compete in the SC USA Freestyle and Greco State Championship.
