PHS band plans final concert at old auditorium
PICKENS — The Pickens High School band will celebrate the end of an era this Thursday when it presents a production entitled “Countdown to the End.”
The production, the final performance in the current PHS auditorium, will commemorate the last 50 years of music-making by the Pickens band program in the auditorium. It is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
The selections incorporated in the concert follow the theme with their titles including words like “final,” “end” and “finale.” Groups featured will be the PHS Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Colorguard. The Wind Ensemble will play a finale from a symphony that will feature former band student Edward Olive on organ.
The community and all past, present, and future band members are encouraged to attend the production. Tickets will be $5 at the door.
