P.C. Has Talent heads to Daniel this week
COUNTY — Pickens County Has Talent, a county-wide talent show that showcases the best of the best within Pickens County, held its first competition at Pickens High School this past Saturday.
More than a dozen acts competed, and four were chosen to compete in the finals on February 25.
Those winners were Vataydra Ferguson, Laura Nelson, Ruby Faith Dennis and Gracie Dellinger. This week’s show is at Daniel High School. The show starts at 6 p.m.
Here are the acts that were selected to compete from the auditions this past Saturday (in no particular order): Ally Green, Dylan Looper, Trivocality, Linda Gail Higdon, Laura Nelson, David Burke, Joe Rice, Kristopher Luo, Rebecca Mason, Forrest Wang, Abbey & Callie Clogging, Sonny Nodine, Chinese Martial Arts, Hot Foot Cloggers, Tyler and Caleb Music, and Tsomorlig Khishigbold.
Auditions next week for the Liberty area will be held at Liberty High School at 10 a.m.
Officials hope to continue the trend of great talent coming to the auditions to showcase the best in Pickens County. With 100 percent of the money raised going back into local public schools, Pickens County Has Talent is an opportunity to raise a lot of money for the 16,000 plus students who go to school in Pickens County.
Auditions will take place one week prior to each preliminary event at all four SDPC High Schools. Auditions and the contest are open to all ages. The audience at each event will select its top four acts to represent the area in the competition on the final night.
The shows will also air on Charter Local TV-10, made possible by Ingles.
Show dates will be February 4 at Daniel High, February 11 at Liberty High, February 18 at Easley High, and the finals will be February 25 at Pickens High. All shows start at 6 p.m.
