COUNTY — A nearly year-long joint investigation into drug activities in the county by agents of the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and the Easley Police Department has resulted in a 26 arrests, and more are expected as the investigation continues.
According to a release from Pickens County Sheriff C. David Stone, agents from the sheriff’s office and EPD have been conducting a joint investigation into the manufacturing, distribution and possession of methamphetamines, marijuana and controlled substances over the past eight months.
After numerous surveillance operations, agents were able to identify and arrest 26 suspects and serve 45 warrants, and more arrests are expected.
“Drug investigations are one of the most difficult and time-consuming cases to work to acquire enough evidence for a later conviction in court,” Stone said. “It’s the skill, knowledge and experience of all of the agents with these agencies and the cooperation of the public too that provides information that makes these types of investigations successful. ‘If you see something, say something’ is still a great motto for keeping communities drug-resistant.”
Listed below are the names and charges of suspects arrested, according to Stone’s release:
• William Calvin Bowens — three counts of sale of controlled substance
• Lance Daniel Brace — possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance
• Marcie Etrulia Brooks — sale of controlled substance
• Wayne Russell Brooks, Jr. — three counts of sale of controlled substance
• Jason Adam Collopy — manufacturing marijuana
• William Dustin Crews — two counts of sale of controlled substance
• Jennie Renee Dalton — sale of methamphetamine
• Larry Anthony Gambrell — sale of methamphetamine
• Brian Keith Gilstrap — possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance
• Vennetta Hudgins — two counts of sale of controlled substance
• William Joshua Lyday — sale of methamphetamine
• Tina Melinda Mealor — manufacturing methamphetamine
• John Christopher Moore — possession of methamphetamine
• Jason William Nicholas — two counts of sale of marijuana
• Melissa Brown Nutall — sale of controlled substance
• Robin Christina Prince — possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance
• Jamie Richard Reece — two counts of sale of methamphetamine
• Julie Rebecca Rule — possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substance
• Pauline Leisa Segar — sale of controlled substance
• Jeffrey Lavern Stone — sale of methamphetamine
