Liberty — Jaelyn Mae Pilgrim, infant daughter of Britnie Noel Pilgrim, died Monday, March 19, 2012.
She is survived by a large loving extended family.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church, Norris. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Connie Sue Bryant
Pickens — Connie Sue Garren Bryant, 70, of 267 Riggins Road, died, Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at her home.
Born in Pumpkintown she was a daughter of the late Lillie Mae Garren Trotter. She attended Wayside Baptist Church. During her working career she was the Cafeteria manager at NCR in Liberty. Before retiring, she loved to spend her free time going on cruises with some of her friends.
Surviving are her husband, Wallace F. Bryant of the home; a brother, Basil Trotter of Pickens; and many nieces and nephews whom she adored and thought of as her own.
Graveside services to honor the life of Mrs. Bryant were 1:30 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Isabelle Smith Bryant
Six Mile — Isabelle Smith Bryant, 90, formerly of 628 Love and Care Road, Six Mile, wife of the late Ray A. Bryant died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Redeemer Health and Rehab of Pickens.
A native of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Teresa Justice Smith. She was a retired nursing assistant with Harvey Love and Care Nursing Home in Six Mile and was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include sons, Roy Towe of Chesnee; John William Towe of Seneca; John Phillip Towe of Enoree; a daughter, Patricia Ann Cornwell of Thornburg, Va.; a sister, Lou Ellen Vinson of Highlands, N.C.; also a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ARK Hospice, 101 Grace Drive, Easley, SC 29640.

Milton Mathis

Easley — Charles Milton Mathis, 65, of 1503 Old Easley Highway, died, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Greenville he was a son of the late Sam Milton Mathis. He was a 1965 graduate of Wade Hampton High School, and was member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge #235 AFM, Order of the Eastern Star, Liberty Chapter #80, and the Hejaz Shrine. Milton retired from the United States Navy with 22 years of service and served during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his mother, Frances M. Mathis of Liberty; a daughter, Sandy Johnson and her husband Michael of Anderson; a sister, Elaine Cole of Little River; two brothers, Andy Mathis of Liberty, and Timothy Mathis of Central; two grandchildren, Grace and Kayce Johnson; his special friend and companion, Sheila Miller; two special nieces, Alexis and Lacey Mathis.
Graveside services with military honors to celebrate Milton’s life were 3:30 p.m. Friday at Westview Cemetery in Liberty.

Kenneth Arnold
Six Mile — Kenneth Arnold, 55, husband of Elaine Pilgrim, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Cannon Memorial Hospital.
Born in Alabama, a son of William and Mary Warrick Arnold, Kenny moved to South Carolina in 1967. Mr. Arnold installed insulation and was employed with Jennings and Dill at the time of his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, cleaning, cooking and racing. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Charleston.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and father, are two sons, Nathan Pilgrim (Stacy), and Clayton Arnold, both of Six Mile; a daughter, Tonya Arnold (Ricky) of Swansea; two brothers, William Thomas Arnold, and Larry O’neal Arnold (Peggy) of Charleston; a sister, Patricia Cunningham (Ernest) of Charleston; four grandchildren, William Rogers, Liam Baker, Randall Ramey, and David Ramey.

Mary Roach
Easley — Mary Helen Pressley Roach, 78, formerly of Legion Street, wife of the late Earl Roach, Jr., died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Manna Health & Rehab.
Born in Greenville County, a daughter of the late James Henry and Alice Helen Allen Pressley, Mrs. Roach retired as the activity director at Harvey’s Nursing Center and was a member of Easley Church of God where she belonged to the Glenn Edgar Sunday School Class.
Surviving are a brother, James Pressley (Juanita) of Fountain Inn and a sister, Frances Babb (Leon) of Simpsonville.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Roach was predeceased by a half-brother, B.L. Pressley and two half-sisters, Beulah and Evie Gregg.
At the request of Mrs. Roach, private graveside services were held in Hillcrest Memorial Park on Saturday.
Family members would like to express their gratitude to the staff members of Manna Health and Rehab and Ark Hospice of Easley for the love and care given to Mrs. Roach.

Easley — Mr. Michael Anthony Waldrop, 51, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Heritage Health Care, Six Mile.
Born in Pickens County, Mr. Waldrop was a son of Brenda Gillespie Oglesby and the late Randall O’Neal “Tater” Waldrop.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers, Jody Oglesby (Michele) and Jamie Waldrop, both of Easley.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

John “Ed” Stone

Easley — Mr. John “Ed” Stone, 85, husband of Doris Owens Stone, died Friday, March 23, 2012 at Baptist Easley, Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, a son of the late Ennis Major and Pauline Burroughs Stone, Mr. Stone was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in the Pacific Theater and the Pearl Harbor Conflict during WWII. Ed retired as manager of Grant Ford Body Shop and later retired from the Easley Fire Department after 28 years of service.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years are three sons, Micheal Stone (Cindy) of Easley, John Thomas Stone of Sevierville, Tenn. and Brian Stone (Sissy) of Easley; two sisters, Joretta Stone Rampey (Harold) and Ellen Stone Nalley (Cecil), all of Easley; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stone was predeceased by a brother, Carl Stone.
Funeral services were 4 p.m. Monday, March 26 at St Andrew United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Heyward Bryant

Liberty — Heyward Junior Bryant, 87, of 11 Pineview Drive, died peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Anderson he was a son of the late Rome L. and Ollie Ruth Owens Bryant.
Mr. Bryant retired from Woodside Mills with 35 years of service, was a member of Calumet Baptist Church since 1954, where he held numerous church offices including Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher. He was a United States Army veteran who served during World War II, the Korean War, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant and was a Silver Star recipient.
Surviving are his wife, Frankie Clardy Bryant of the home; a son, Keith Bryant and his wife Rhonda of North; four daughters, Lynne Cornwell of Richmond, Texas, Sheliah Hendrix of Pickens, Kim Baker of Easley, and Pam Bryant of Greenville; two step sons, Ron and Eddie Roach both of Pickens; three sisters, Margie Fowler, Ruth Ann Fowler, and Joyce Porter all of Liberty; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and six step grandchildren.
In addition to his mother and father he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sammie Jo Chapman Bryant.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Bryant will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

Donna Bonnie Burns
Easley — Donna Bonnie Burns, 74, of Easley, died on March 23, 2012.
Born in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Helen Karme.
Bonne was a longtime employee of Baptist Easley Hospital, Nationwide and H & R Block. She served as an officer for the Easley Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind; a member of the Foothills Chapter of Quester’s International. She was a member of Easley First United Methodist Church and the Women’s Circle #7.
Surviving her are Bob Burns, of Seneca; her daughter, Ellen Mitchell (Vaughn), of Greenville; her son, Robert Karl Burns (Ashley), of Charleston; three grandchildren, Morgan Hutto Phillips (Craig); Katrina Hutto and Cody Mitchell, all of Greenville; four great grandchildren; her sister, Gay Rocco, of Tinley Park, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were conducted Monday, March 26 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home.

Harold Paul Abercrombie

Easley — Mr. Harold Paul Abercrombie, 79, of 306 Due West Circle, husband of Barbara Jenkinson Abercrombie, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at his home.
Born Aug. 13, 1932 at Alice Mill Village, he was a son of the late Paul and Olive Parsons Abercrombie. Mr. Abercrombie was a graduate of Easley High School and a US Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War. He retired in 1994 from Alice Manufacturing with 46 years of service and was a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church. He was a longtime Clemson Tiger fan and very proud of his family.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, he is survived by his children, Andy Abercrombie (Katie) of Winter Park, Fla., Kathy Smith (Skip) of Easley, and Don Abercrombie (April) of Clinton, Tenn.; sister, Dot Henderson; brothers, JC Abercrombie and Dale Abercrombie; grandchildren, Ashley Baird, Alicia Bray, Michael Abercrombie, Andrew Abercrombie, Lauren Smith, Aaron Smith, Kassie Abercrombie, Paul Abercrombie, Karen Abercrombie, and Daniel Abercrombie; great-grandchildren, Avery Merriman, Chole Bray and Christian Baird.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Jet Stevens, Ruth Rice and Jenny Thomas.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at St. Matthias Lutheran Church. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park with military honors.

Lillie L. Finley
Pickens — Lillie Lynch Finley, 90, formerly of Glassy Mountain Street, died peacefully Saturday, March 24, 2012.
Born on Nov. 20, 1921 in Pisgah Forest, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Leah Hester Lynch and Gideon Leander “Lee” Lynch. Mrs. Finley was the widow of the late Felix L. Finley of Pickens.
Surviving is a son, Gregory Finley (Connie) of Sunset; daughters, Jackie Gravely Broome (Monnie) of Greenville and Linda Gravely Newman (Leon) of Sunset; grandchildren, Allison Whetsell Aiken (Tim) of Sunset, Leah Broome Tankersley (Jason) of Greenville, Ansley Whetsell Cudd (David) of Sunset, and Nathan Broome of Simpsonville; great grandchildren, Lauren, Nathan, and Sarah Beth Aiken of Sunset, Charlie, Anna, and Jack Tankersley of Greenville, Beau Strickland, Allie Strickland, and Jackson Cudd of Sunset; stepsons, Dr. Robert Finley and Dr. Philip Finley (Barbara) of Sumter and Stephen Finley (Susan) of Columbia. Also surviving is a niece, Mary Wilkie of Pickens and a nephew, Tommy Lynch of Salisbury, N.C.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, G.L. “Jimmy” Lynch and a sister, Ada L. Reynolds.
The family is grateful for the loving care she received at Majesty Health Center, Easley, SC and the many close friendships she cherished while there.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 26 at 11:30 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Jimmy Dillard officiating. Burial was held in Brevard, N.C.

Hazeleen M. Winslett
Easley — Hazeleen “Granna” Massingill Winslett, 78, of 201 McBee Avenue, died Friday, March 23 at McCall Hospice House, Simpsonville.
Born in Easley, Mrs. Winslett was a daughter of the late James Clarence and Jeanette McCue Massingill. She graduated from Easley High School and was a homemaker. She attended Rock Springs Baptist Church, and enjoyed cooking, baking, flowers, gardening, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are a son, Horace Lee (Winn) Winslett III (Lori) of Charlotte; a daughter Jan Winslett Horne (Greg) of Easley; two sisters, Mary Ellen Addington of Easley and Doris Henry of Highlands, N.C.; and eight grandchildren, Jason Horne, Trandon Crowe, Javen Horne, Anna Ginn, Amanda Winslett, Lee Winslett, Nathan Winslett, and Rachel Winslett.
Mrs. Winslett was predeceased by her husband, Horace Lee Winslett, Jr.; and two sisters, Frances Christopher and Viola Fields.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Hazel V. Aiken
Pickens — Hazel Virginia Alexander Aiken, 82, of 326 Nealy Street, died on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Capstone Health and Rehab.
Born in Six Mile, Mrs. Aiken was a daughter of the late Luther Alexander and the late Paralee Holcombe Alexander Gilstrap. She graduated from Tamassee DAR School and was a homemaker. Mrs. Aiken was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, and she was a devoted, loving wife, mother, and nanny.
Surviving are two sons, Steve Aiken of Easley and Tony Aiken of Pickens; a daughter, Marlene Aiken of Pickens; seven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Diane Byars.
Mrs. Aiken was predeceased by her husband, Marlin Aiken; a son, Jackie Aiken; a sister, Mamie Jo Williams; and a half-brother, Lt. Col. Billy Gilstrap.
Funeral services were 4 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown Easley. Burial followed in Holly Springs Baptist Church.

James R. Nash, Sr.
Pickens — James Robert Nash, Sr., 66, of 178 Childress Road, died Friday, March 23, 2012.
Born in Salisbury, N.C., he was the son of the late Ernest Michael Nash and Hester Irene Nash Reid.
Surviving are his wife of the home, Suzanna Ramey Nash; children, Marilyn Marie Broughton of Goldsboro, N.C., Brenda Lavonne Sanders of Pickens, James Robert Nash, Jr. of Anderson and Michael Ernest Nash of Six Mile; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Mary M. Morgan
Easley — Mrs. Mary Mundy Morgan, 86, wife of the late Fred Morgan, died Friday, March 23, 2012 at The Commons.
Born in Jonesboro, Ga., the daughter of the late William and Mae Dodson Mundy, Mrs. Morgan retired as a School Psychologist with the Greenville County School System. She volunteered at McKissick Elementary and was a member of Easley First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Leslie F. Morgan (Lee) and Tom Morgan (Gayle), all of Easley; one daughter, Jane M. Hart (Tom) of Summerville; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrence Chapel Cemetery, Central.

Katherine K. Lingefelt
Clemson — Katherine Kelley Lingefelt, 79, of 345 Old Greenville Highway, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.
Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Herrington E. and Olive Maude Riggins Kelley.  Katherine was a former employee with Pratt-Read Company and a homemaker.  She attended Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a sister, Ann K. Wilbanks of Seneca; brother, Billy Franklin Kelley of the home; a long-time friend, George W. Carter of Anderson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central. Burial followed in Memory Gardens, Clemson.

Frances B. Looper
Pickens — Frances Bolding Looper, 85, of Pickens, died Monday, March 26, 2012.
She was the wife of the late Paul Looper and daughter of Maggie and Henry Bolding. She was a lifelong resident of the Praters Creek Community and active member of Praters Creek Baptist Church. She retired from Keowee-Toxaway State Park after many years of service as a receptionist in the Interpretive Center.
She is survived by her children: Cathy Rhodes and husband John of Saluda, N.C.; Stan Looper and wife Cathy of Piedmont; Marshall Looper and wife Ellen of Aiken; and Mandy Stokes of Pickens. She has eight grandchildren: Andrea Rhodes, Jonathan Rhodes, Anna Eaton, Tori Looper, Tyler Looper, Sarah Looper, Matthew Looper and Kaity Stokes. She also has four great grandchildren: Maddie Rhodes, Tristan Rhodes, Cate Eaton, and Sidney Rhodes.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, with the Revs. Trenton Connely and Jason Moss officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
