• Day family reunion planned for Sept. 18
The sixth annual Day family reunion, including descendants of Bradwell Day and Elizabeth Cansler Day, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18, starting at 1 p.m. at J.B. Day’s Riverbend Old Stock Car Racing Museum, located at 154 Floyd Circle in Easley.
All attending are asked to bring a picnic lunch or covered dish to share and a drink. Plates, napkins, cups, and eating utensils will be provided.
Parents and grandparents can assist young family members fill out a genealogy chart. There will also be assistance available in filling out DAR membership papers.
The event will also feature a presentation on a court case involving Bradwell Day by cousin Linda Smith Cheek, published genealogist, and tales from the diary of her great aunt, Margaret Elizabeth Ellison, great granddaughter of Bradwell and Elizabeth.
Group photos will be taken of descendants from the children of Bradwell and Elizabeth: Lucretia Day Ellison Cooper, Francis Marion Day, Elias Day, Andrew Jackson Hanson Day, Alonzo Elliot Day and Laura Clementine Day Couch. • Winchester reunion planned for Sept. 18
The annual Winchester reunion will meet on Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Shady Grove Baptist Church Fellowship Building on Shady Grove Road in Sunset. The program will begin at 12:45 p.m. with a candlelight memorial service for family members who have passed away since September 2015. Each family will bring food and drinks. Table accessories will be provided. Dale Winchester is serving as president, and Mark Holliday is vice president.
• Lewis reunion set for Oct. 2 at Mt. Sinai
The Anthony B. and Evelyn Ellenburg Lewis reunion will be held on Oct. 2 at Mount Sinai Church Fellowship Building. Everyone is welcome and asked to bring a well-filled basket.
• Widowed persons group plans meetings
The Pickens County WOP is a social group for widowed persons that meets on the second Friday of each month at 6 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

• 68th Gillespie reunion set for Oct. 2
The 68th annual Gillespie reunion will be held at the Balsam Grove, N.C., community center beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2. Please come and encourage your family as well. Bring a well-filled basket and drink of choice. Plates, cups and ice will be furnished.
• Antioch UMC plans Homecoming service
Antioch United Methodist Church of Easley will hold a homecoming service and dinner beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18.
The visiting minister is former pastor Rev. Farrell Cox. Special music will be provided by Mr. Steve Rackley. Pastor Gary Peterson and the church family extend a welcome to everyone.
