Danny Ray Maw, Jr.
Easley — Mr. Danny Ray Maw, Jr., 37, of 512 Slickum Rd., husband of Karen Clark Maw, died Palm Sunday, April 1, 2012.
Born Dec. 10, 1974 in Greenville County, he was a son of Danny Ray Maw, Sr. of Sandy Flats and Julia Bulman Lee of Belton. Ray was an Aircraft Mechanic at Lockheed Martin with over 12 years of service. He was a follower of Jesus who shared The Gospel and had a heart for the less fortunate. His wife and children were the center of his life.
In addition to his parents and his wife of 14 years, Ray is survived by his children, Samuel Karsten Maw and Jordyn McKenzie Maw; brother, Tommy Maw of Simpsonville, sister, Susan Medlin of Simpsonville and paternal grandmother, Beatrice Bowers of Travelers Rest.
He was predeceased by his adoptive mother, Yvonne Watson and grandfather, Raymond Bulman.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, April 6 at Life Church in Dacusville with Pastor Chad Albertson and Pastor Terry Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

Louise Benoit
Easley — Louise Davis Benoit, 92, of Easley, died on April 3, 2012.
Born in Cateechee, she was the daughter of the late Jerry Clifton and Lillie Atkinson Davis. As the last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters; and by her husband Roland James Benoit. Louise retired from the School District of Pickens County, where she served as the Food Manager of Crosswell Elementary. She was of the Methodist Faith.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sandra Benoit; her two grandchildren, Joy (Brandon) Cring, and April (Nathan) Dillard; and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted Wednesday, April 4 at 1 p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel of Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank the Doctors and Staff of Palmetto Baptist Easley Hospital and Rainey Hospice House for their loving care of Louise.

Debbie Smith
Six Mile — Deborah “Debbie” Smith, 51, of Six Mile, died on April 3, 2012.
Born in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of Carroll Edward and Ingrid Bellman Smith. Debbie was a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She was a 32 year employee of Duke Energy. From 1986 to 1992 she was a Reactor Operator and most recently worked in the Operations Support Group. Debbie loved all aspects of life. She was an integral member of a crafting club; and also served as Co-Chairwoman of the Issaqueena Festival Committee.
Surviving are her brother, Robert Smith and her sister, Tina M. Smith. She is also survived by a host of friends whom she loved dearly as her family.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 11 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home, 2402 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, SC.
Visitation will follow the services at the funeral home until 7 p.m.

Charles Young
Easley — Charles Ivan Young, husband of Allie Charlene Young, died April 5, 2012, at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, he was a son of Ruby Byers Young, of Jamestown, Ohio and the late Charles Edward Young. Charles moved to South Carolina after serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was the owner of Young’s Industrial Supply, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two sons, Nathan Young (Ashley) of Pickens, and Adam Young (Jenna) of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Lori Keller (Shawn) of Boiling Springs; a brother, David Allen Young (Janene) of Jamestown, Ohio; two sisters, Celeste Strebe (Ron) of Grand Blanc, Mich., and Sheila Fields of Cape Coral, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Kelcie Young, Wesley Bowen, Skylar Young, Samantha Keller, Chance Keller, and Kenneth Charles Young.
He was predeceased by his father, Charles Edward Young.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

Helen “Sue” Vaughn
Clemson — Helen Kate “Sue” Vaughn of Clemson, died on Sunday, April 8, 2012, at her home.
Born in Baltimore, Md., on Nov. 28, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Joseph Haid, Jr. Mrs. Vaughn graduated from Lynchburg College in 1963 and the University of Virginia in 1965. She and her husband of 48 years, Edward Allen Vaughn, moved to Clemson in 1966. After spending two years abroad in Manchester, England, they returned to Clemson in 1969 and raised four daughters. Mrs. Vaughn was a beloved homemaker as well as an employee of Tri-County Technical College and Oconee Medical Center. She took great joy in supporting with her husband a number of organizations and charities in the area. She was especially fond of planning and hosting holiday gatherings of close friends and family. Early in her career, Mrs. Vaughn was a special education teacher at the Children’s Rehabilitation Center in Charlottesville, Va.; West Market Elementary School in Anderson; and the Telford School in Manchester, England. For the last 35 years, she was a devoted volunteer for the Whitten Center Parents’ Club in Clinton, and served a term as president.
Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her husband; four daughters, Julia Lynne Blauwkamp of Westminster, Md., Jennifer Sue Vaughn of Durham, N.C., Katherine Mae Vaughn of Clinton, and Deborah Ann Vaughn Crader of Clemson; two sons-in-law, Ross Alan Blauwkamp of Westminster, Md., and Benjamin Boyce Crader of Clemson; and six grandchildren, Katherine Grace TianXi Blauwkamp, Kaili GuangYu Blauwkamp, Zachary FuHai Blauwkamp, Ian ChuanXi Blauwkamp, Helen Katherine Crader, and Henry Boyce Crader.
One brother, Robert Gunther Haid, predeceased her.
A graveside service for Mrs. Vaughn was held at Old Stone Church Cemetery on Wednesday, April 11 at 11 a.m.

Lois Reynolds
Liberty — Lois Burgess Lollis Reynolds, 69, of 121 Velo View Lane died Monday at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Greenville, she was the wife of Jerry W. Reynolds of the home and a daughter of the late Billy T. Burgess, Sr. and Mae Belle Stokes Burgess of Greenville. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Pickens.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are two daughters, Beth Ashworth of Easley and Sandra Ball of Travelers Rest; four step daughters, Sherry Hardbrook of Six Mile, Lanae Hickey of Liberty, Sandy Lollis of Pendleton and Diane Robinson of Liberty; a son, Tommy Ashworth of Simpsonville; two stepsons, Chris Reynolds of Travelers Rest and Josh Lollis of Liberty; a sister, Victoria Hargrove of Greenville; a brother, Billy T. Burgess, Jr. of Fountain Inn; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her father she was predeceased by a step daughter, Vickey Shaffer; and a brother, Eddie Burgess.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Reynolds were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Interment at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery was private.

Maton G. Brooks
Liberty — Maton Brooks, 93, of Liberty, husband of the late Arietta Hendricks Brooks, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Anderson AnMed Health Center.
Born in Pickens County, Mr. Brooks was a son of the late George and Maggie Morgan Brooks. Mr. Brooks retired from textiles and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are three sons, Tony, Troy and Wayne Brooks, all of Liberty; two daughters, Evelyn Patterson and Winnon Miller, both of Liberty; a sister, Nell Abercrombie; two brothers, Ray and Bo Brooks; 32 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Brooks was predeceased by two grandchildren, Mitchell and Crystal Brooks.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, April 6 at Rice’s Creek Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

George F. Odoms
Easley — Mr. George Fuller Odoms, 88, husband of the late Joyce Odoms, died Monday, April 2, 2012 at Foothills Presbyterian Home, Easley.
Born in Grady, Okla., the son of the late James D. and April Gresch Odoms, Mr. Odoms was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired computer technician and was of the Presbyterian faith.
Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, April 9 in the Foothills Presbyterian Home chapel, 205 Bud Nalley Drive, Easley, SC 29642.

Clara Hamilton
Easley — Mrs. Clara Dacus Hamilton, 76, wife of Frank H. Hamilton, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at her home.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Prue Milton and Vera Elaine Friddle Dacus, Mrs. Hamilton retired from West Point Pepperell and was a member of Georges Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 56 years, are two daughters, Melissa Johnson (Philip) and Kim Roe (Ben), all of Easley; three brothers, Howard Dacus of Asheville, N.C., Kenneth Dacus of Easley and Prue Dacus, Jr., of Pickens; four sisters, Olivia Batson of Columbia, Marcell Santzen of Florida, Linda Jones of Easley and Cheryl Miller of Anderson; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hamilton was predeceased by a brother, Grover Dacus.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 6 at Georges Creek Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pheron N. Holliday
Six Mile — Pheron Nations Holliday, 92, of 458 Camp Creek Road, died peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Six Mile she was the widow of Edward Holliday and a daughter of the late Thomas Horton and Minnie Duckworth Nations. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters Emily Williams (Lee) of Pickens, Kathy Stone (Steve) of Six Mile, Debra Rampey of Buford, Ga., and Cheryl Leviner (Mike) of Lamar; three sons, Tommy Holliday (Martha) of Six Mile, Tony Holliday (Judy)of Leicester, N.C., and Norman Holliday (Carol) of Six Mile; 16 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Boyce Holliday, and three grandchildren, Mark Holliday, Stephanie Rampey, and Boyce Rampey.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Holliday were 2 p.m. Saturday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel conducted by the Rev. Bo Mackey. Burial was at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Donna Faye Mahaffey
Liberty — Donna Faye Mahaffey, 62, of 600 Old Norris Road, died peacefully, on Thursday, April 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Faye was a 1969 graduate of Liberty High School and before her sickness worked with the Pickens County Board of Disabilities. She loved working with those who had special needs. She was a member of Calumet Baptist Church.
Surviving are her parents, Vernon F. and Frances D. Mahaffey of the home; two brothers, Billy Mahaffey and Terry “Ted” Mahaffey both of Seneca; special friends, Lisa Spangler and her husband Tony, Joey & Gina Boldling, and Little Gavin; also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services to honor Faye’s life were 11 a.m. Monday at Calumet Baptist Church. Burial was at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

Roger D. Reid
Pickens — Mr. Roger Dale Reid, 55, husband of Juanita Elrod Reid, died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at his home.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Fred and Helen Garrett Reid, Mr. Reid retired from Ryobi and attended Wayside Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 38 years, are one son, Brian Reid (Tina) of Pickens; one daughter, Michele Henry of Pickens; one brother, Ronald Reid of Six Mile; two sisters; Martha Brown and Marilyn Miller, both of Pickens; four grandsons, Cody Henry, Cole Henry, Tyler Reid and Timothy Reid; and Wesley Reid who was like a son.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Monday, April 9 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

Ralph Moore
Easley — Ralph Moore, 80, of 107 S. Dale Drive, died Easter Sunday at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.
Born in Beulaville, N.C., he was the son of the late LeBasker and Gladoylene Williams Moore. Mr. Moore was retired from JP Stevens in Greenville. He was a graduate of Holmes Bible College, a member of Set Free Christian Fellowship Church where he was a missionary and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Fontella Keener Moore of the home; a son, Ronald Ray Moore of Greer; two grandchildren, Jessica Lewis (Joshua) and Landon Moore; two great grandchildren, Delores Robin Lewis and Lydia Beatrice Lewis; a brother, Murl Lee Moore (Sarah) of Winston Salem, N.C.; and three sisters, Carol M. Liardon of Bradenton, Fla., Faye M. Rivenbark and Betty M. Sessions (John) both of Willard, N.C.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was predeceased by a brother, Henry Jacob Moore.
A service to celebrate Mr. Moore’s life was held on Tuesday, April 10 at 2 p.m. at Set Free Christian Fellowship Church in Easley. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
