4A playoffs start Thursday at Pickens High

PICKENS — It’s in the books, another undefeated season in region play for the Pickens High Lady Blue Flame.

The team ended the regular season with a win against rival D.W. Daniel and completed another perfect season in region play. PHS holds a 204-13 regional and playoff record since head coach Jennifer Gravely became took the reins in 2003.

The Lady Flame has lost only six region matches in 14 years. The other losses were playoff matches, upper state losses or state losses. PHS under Gravely has been to the Upper State 10 years out of 14 and won six – AAA State Titles.

Congratulations Coach Gravely on another successful season and to the 2016 Lady Flame.

Pickens will start it playoff run on October 27, with the contest starting at 6 p.m. at Pickens High School. Round I will be against South Pointe High School from Rock Hill. Fans are encouraged to come out and support theLady Flame as they begin their quest for another upper state and state.
