Avanelle E. Allsep
Easley — Mrs. Avanelle Eleanor Nix Allsep, 78, widow of Grady L. Allsep, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Avanelle was born in Easley to the late Herbert and Ethel Edens Nix. There wasn’t anything Avanelle enjoyed more than spending time with her family. She was a member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church, and a homemaker.
Surviving are three sons, Steve (Glenda), Bill, and Mark (Jessica) Allsep, all of Easley; a daughter, Darla Nixon (Tom), of Easley; a sister, Florence Turner, of Easley; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service was held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed at Rock Spring Baptist Church cemetery.

Dollie Bagwell
Easley — Dollie Alice Parker Bagwell, 93, widow of Endel E. Bagwell, died Friday, July 27, 2012 at Stone Creek Health and Rehabilitation in Asheville, N.C.
Born in Transylvania, N.C., to the late William and Carrie McCall Parker, Dollie was a machine operator for Singer Corporation and a member of Tabor Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Ronnie E. Bagwell (Nancy), of Easley; a brother, Leonard Parker, of Simpsonville; three grandchildren, Lisa Wyatt, of Westminster, Rhonda Allison (David) of Pickens, and Jason Bagwell (Stephanie), of Chesnee; five great-grandchildren, Monica and Caryn Wyatt, Sarah Allison, Luke and Jonah Bagwell; and one great great-grandchild, Jayce McMinn.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bagwell was predeceased by four brothers, Cleon, Earl, Sylvester, and J.B. Parker; and two sisters, Marie Garrett, and Effie Nix.
Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Monday, July 30, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Kay M. Bowen
Easley — Mrs. Kay McCall Bowen, 71, wife of Bill R. Bowen, died Friday, July 27, 2012 at her home.
Born in Easley, a daughter of the late Earl Russell and Beatrice Smith McCall, Mrs. Bowen retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company, Greenville and was a member of Easley First Wesleyan Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home, are a son, David Bowen (Angela) of Taylors; and a sister, Barbara Meigs (Willard) of Winston-Salem, N.C.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, July 30 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Entombment followed in the Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum of Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC 29642.

Gladys E. Howard
Easley — Mrs. Gladys Eades Howard, 73, wife of the late Jacob Carl Howard, died Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Majesty Health and Rehab.
Born in Oconee County a daughter of the late Rev. J.B. and Zona Scroggs Eades, Mrs. Howard was a homemaker and a member of New Harvest Church of God.
Surviving are two sons, Joel Carl Howard of Easley and the Rev. Channing Craig Howard (Amanda) of Stilwell, Okla.; one daughter, Cynthia Delores Farley of Central; four brothers, Paul, Waymon, Hilton and Milford Eades; two sisters, Clara Bell Smith and Ruth Hester; and five grandchildren, Cianna, Matthew, Ashlee, Zechariah and Emily Howard.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Howard was predeceased by a son, Julian Denver Howard; two brothers, John and J.W. Eades, and one sister, Blanche Simmons.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 31 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Channing Craig Howard officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Ophelia Brezeale
Pickens — Ora Ophelia Brezeale, of Pickens died Monday evening, July 30, 2012.
Mrs. Brezeale was born in Polk County, N.C. a daughter of the late Benjamin Wilkins Reid and the late Bessie Whitmire Reid. She was retired as a nurse’s aide and was a Baptist.
Survivors include sons Mike Mills (Susan) of Marietta, and Dwight Cash (Gayle) of Greer and a daughter Sara Roper (Terry Moore) of Williamston, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brezeale was preceded in death by a granddaughter Mary Catherine Cash, one sister, four brothers and son-in-law Jerry Mac Roper.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, August 2 in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens with the Rev. Doug Saylors and the Rev. Scott Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens.

Brandon P. Nichols
Clemson — Brandon Patrick Nichols, 30, of 102 Lakeview Circle, died Friday, July 27th in Seneca.
Born in Anderson, Brandon was the son of Daniel L. Nichols of Clemson and Patricia Traylor Nichols of Central. He was a graduate of D.W. Daniel High School and Clemson University.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Daniel Lee (Cynthia) Nichols of Lexington; sister, Brittany Allena Smith of Auburn, Ala.; paternal grandmother, Kathy Nichols of Surfside Beach; maternal grandparents, Vonnie Traylor of Taylors and James A. (Marjorie) Traylor of North Charleston; his girlfriend, Lindsay Groomes of Seneca; and numerous Uncles, Aunts and Cousins.
There are no formal services planned at this time.

Major Jackson
“M.J.” Stansell, Jr.
Liberty — Major Jackson “M.J.” Stansell, Jr. 76, of 118 Alta Vista Court, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012.
Born in Westminster, he was the widower of the late Martha Nalley Stansell and a son of the late Major Jackson and Fannie Taylor Stansell, Sr. He earned a BA degree from Piedmont College where he played baseball. He had also been a teacher and coach at Liberty High School. Later he retired from Dow Chemical Company. He was an avid fisherman and bird hunter and loved Clemson athletics and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a longtime member of Liberty First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Kay LeRoy(Sam) of Greenwood; two sons, Mike Stansell of Charleston and Brett Stansell(Angela) of Easley; a sister, Lorene Glymph of Westminster; two brothers, George Truett Stansell(Edna) of Westminster, and Furman Stansell(Mary) of Cumming, Ga.; and seven grandchildren, Elyse LeRoy South(Mac), Philip and Abbey LeRoy, and Camryn, Emily, Connor and Riley Stansell.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Audrey Smith and Helen Cody; and a brother Jack Stansell.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Stansell will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Liberty First Baptist Church. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:30 until 3 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial will be at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

Lewis Gardner
Easley — Lewis C. Gardner, 84, husband of Juanita Jenkins Gardner, died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at his home.
Born in Greenville County to the late Ezra and Mary Henderson Gardner, Lewis worked in textiles as a warehouse supervisor, and was a member of Georges Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Doug Gardner (Bridgett), of North Carolina; a sister, Louise Porto; three grandchildren, Allender Gardner and his fiancée Holly, Amy Dickert and her husband Chip, and Lindsay Gardner; and four great-grandchildren, Michael, Allison, and Jessica Gardner, and Chely Dickert.
Memorial Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 1 at Georges Creek Baptist Church.
