LIBERTY — The Liberty Red Devils jumped out to a 20-0 lead over mistake-prone Walhalla and gained their first win of the season going away in a 45-17 game Friday night.
Walhalla turned the ball over on its first two offensive plays of the game, and they were also stopped short of midfield on a fake punt to make for a miserable first quarter for the Razorbacks. The Red Devils converted to score on two of the miscues to jump out to the early lead.
On the first offensive play of the game, Kevon Tabron picked off a Chris Meadors pass at the Walhalla 35-yard line and rambled down to the 1-yard line before being knocked out of bounds by Meadors.
Tabron scored on the following play, and the Red Devils were up 7-0 with just 25 seconds elapsed in the first quarter.
