BLWS champ to be decided tonight

EASLEY — After seven days of competition, tonight the 2012 Big League World Series Championship will be decided at the J.B. “Red” Owens Recreation Complex, with the U.S. division winner facing the International division winner at 8 p.m. in a game to be televised on ESPN 3.
At press time, Puerto Rico was set to face Venezuela in the International finals. The two teams faced each other Sunday night, with Puerto Rico earning a 13-0 win.
In the U.S. bracket, the U.S. Central team from Wyoming, Mich., had clinched a spot in the finals with a 4-0 record, including victories in pool play over the S.C. District 1 host team (1-0) and the U.S. West (8-1). The host team and the U.S. West squad finished pool play with 3-1 records. The host team won the tie-breaker and was set to have a rematch against U.S. Central team in the semi-finals Tuesday night.
The series began last Wednesday with 22 games in pool play to determine which teams would advance to the finals tonight.
