Corey Blake Rabb
SIMPSONVILLE — Corey Blake Rabb, 20, of 623 Fairview Lake Way, Simpsonville, went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Friday, Oct. 20, 2017.
He was a welder with CMC Steel. He loved hunting, fishing, his pitbull “Zeus” and helping others. He was born May 21, 1997, in Greenville to Claude Harold Rabb III and Joyce Lynn Collins Reynolds.
He is survived by his parents; stepfather, Kevin Reynolds; maternal grandparents, Ray and Lenda Collins; paternal grandparents, Bobby and Louise Rabb and Jerry and Brenda Reynolds; a brother, Nate Rabb, and sister-in-law, Dayzie Rabb.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Word of Life Church, 1023 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, with Josh Childers officiating. Burial will be at Cannon Memorial Park, 1150 N. Main St., Fountain Inn, SC 29644.

Fay Jones Dyar
SIMPSONVILLE — Fay Jones Dyar, 90 of 300 Mountain View Drive, Seneca, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017.
She was born April 1, 1927, to the late Oscar Howard andEdith Parham Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Dyar, and a brother, Parham Jones.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol D. Smith of Seneca, and grandson, Kyle (Jennifer) Dillard and family of Easley.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Brown-Oglesby Funeral Home chapel, with a funeral service to begin at 3 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Brian Goss officiating and burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Lydia Baptist Church Building Fund, 528 Broadway St., Newry, SC 29665.

Boswell R. Ulmer III
EASLEY — SMSgt. (Ret.) Boswell Risher Ulmer III, 82, of Powers Drive, and husband of the late Rebecca Jane “Janie” Gibson Ulmer, passed away Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at his home.
Born in Walterboro, he was the son of the late Col. Boswell Risher Ulmer Jr. and Eunice Murdaugh Ulmer.
SMSgt. Ulmer proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving in Korea, and the United States Air Force, serving in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, retiring after 34 years of dedicated service. He also retired from Platt-Saco Lowell and was a member of Good News Fellowship in Easley.
Surviving are his children, Kathryn Ulmer Mitchell (Sam) and Kristi Ulmer Hunter (Eric), all of Easley, and Boswell Scott Ulmer of Liberty; grandchildren, Chris Mitchell (Jennifer), Jennifer Carrano (Joey), Ryan Hunter, Chasity Mauldin (Brad) and Haliey Cobb; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Ben and Audrey Mitchell, Lucas and Alex Carrano, Carleigh Mauldin and Lane Cobb; and a sister, Julia Crawford (Bill) of Ashland City, Tenn.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Ulmer Worth.
The family would like to thank the caregivers, especially Patti Taylor, for the exceptional and compassionate care that was given to Mr. Ulmer.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with burial to follow, in Greenlawn Memorial Park with full military honors.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 2-3:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

James Mark Anderson
PICKENS — James Mark Anderson, 53, of Pickens, went to be with his Lord on Oct. 19, 2017.
He was born June 2, 1964, to the late Lemuel and Betty Smith Anderson.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Sheila Patterson Anderson; three daughters, Dana Anderson Sayers (Mike), Ashley Anderson Cassell (Josh) and Lindsey Anderson; four grandchildren, Dakota Sayers, Lailah Sayers, Dawson Cassell and Kaydance Cassell; two sisters, Ann Tate and Debbie Henderson; and 12 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew, Jeramy Bryant.
Mark enjoyed playing the drums and was the backbone of MSDAL Personalizations, LLC.
He was passionate about seeing his dream become a reality and growing it into the business it is today. He was an amazing husband, father, papa and friend. He will be missed by many, as he impacted every life he touched.
Visitation will be from 6-6:45 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 26, at Mountain View Funeral Home, with memorial service to follow in the chapel at 7 p.m.
The evening of his service, the staff will be proudly wearing Mr. Anderson’s monogramming on our Mountain View Funeral Home shirts.

John Chasteney Wyatt Sr.
EASLEY — Mr. John Chasteney Wyatt Sr., loving husband to Susan Senter Wyatt, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at his home.
Born in Fitchburg, Mass., son to the late Kenneth Hall Wyatt and Rebecca Chasteney Wyatt, he was a retired accountant, hospice chaplain and associate pastor for Heritage Baptist Church in Greenville.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, John C. Wyatt Jr. (Lori) of Billerica, Mass.; daughters, Eva May Chase (John) of Billerica, Mass., Jennifer Jean Murphy of Lunenburg, Mass., and Amy Harper Branch (Ray) and Sarah Elizabeth Holt (Donald), both of Easley; sisters, Penny Sauliner of North Hampton, Mass., Deborah Marks (Parker) of Middlebury, Vt., and Janet Labelle of Hudson, Mass.; and grandchildren, Amy Chase of Billerica, Mass., Thomas J. Gibson III of Waltham, Mass., Christopher Wyatt of Salem, N.H., Brittany Gibson of Easley, and Shane Murphy and Grace Murphy, both of Lunenburg, Mass.
Along with his parents, Mr. Wyatt was predeceased by brothers, David Wyatt and Richard Gist; a sister, Elizabeth Thornton; a brother-in-law, John Sauliner; and a son-in-law, William Murphy.
Mr. Wyatt was a devoted man of God who loved his family and always taught his children and grandchildren to do the right thing and to love each other above all else. He enjoyed making people smile and he had a love for trains and stamp collecting.
The family hosted a memorial service Oct. 21 at Easley First Baptist.

LeRay Maw
CENTRAL — Charlotte LeRay Dunn Maw, 64, of 193 Brookbend Road, passed away Thursday at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Rutherfordton, N.C., she was the wife of Melvin Alfred Maw and the daughter of the late Walter Graham Dunn Jr. and Martha Crawford Dunn. She was a graduate of Daniel High School and Tri-County Technical College and was retired from Clemson University. LeRay loved the outdoors and was a member of the Pendleton Area Saddle Club and the Team Noah Saddle Club in which she was instrumental in forming to raise money for the American Heart Association. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Norris where she was a dedicated volunteer for the food pantry. She and Melvin had been married for more than 46 years.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Jeff Maw (Katrina) of Central; a brother, Dennis Dunn (Shara) of Six Mile; a sister-in-law, Janie Swords (Wayne) of Liberty; several nieces and nephews, Andy Swords (Heather), Nathan Swords (Kasey), Emileigh Swords and Scout Swords; Corbett Dunn (Dana), Kinsley and Noah Dunn; Katherine Green and Kaylington Green; and especially her loving dogs, Sam and Roadie.
Funeral services to honor the life of LeRay were held Oct. 22 at First Baptist Church of Norris, with burial following at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery.

Tiny Carter
PICKENS — Leila Nell “Tiny” Carter, 84, widow of the late Thomas J. Carter, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017.
Tiny was born in Oconee County, a daughter of the late James Henry Kircus Sr. and the late Mattie Evatt Kircus. In her early years, she was employed with Bunk Nealey’s Clothing Store in Pickens, and she was retired from the Singer Company and the School District of Pickens County. Tiny was a member of Pickens First Baptist Church and the T.E.L. Sunday School Class. Always on the go, she was very involved in her community, including the Pickens County Historical Society, Pickens Senior Center and Pickens YMCA. Tiny was an avid Clemson Tigers fan, always saying her blood runs orange, and she also followed Atlanta Braves baseball.
In addition to her parents and husband, Tiny was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Kircus, James Kircus and Edward Kircus; sister, Dora E. Brejcha; and her special friend, Fred G. Stewart.
Survivors include a brother, Harley Kircus (Jerri) of Greenville; sisters, Sara Pilgrim of Easley and Barbara Moore of Union; a number of nieces and nephews, and her furry baby “Princess.”
Services were held Oct. 22 at Dillard Funeral Home chapel, with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Deanna G. Gassmann
EASLEY — Mrs. Deanna G. Gassmann, 80, wife of Reinhold A. Gassmann, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Trenton, N.J., she was a daughter of the late John and Helen Oricchia Gurka and stepmother, Josephine Gurka.
Dee Gassmann retired, after 15 years, from Baptist Easley Hospital and was a charter member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church. She loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very supportive of each of them. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting and cooking.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 60 years, are her children, Carol Owens (Clarence), William Gassmann (Ann) and Karl Gassmann, all of Dacusville, and Dianna Morris (Butch) of Pickens; grandchildren, Christy Jacks (Dan), Richelle Owens, Joseph Owens (Sarah), Erik Gassmann, Madison Gassmann and Koryo Gassmann, and Noah Morris and Tori Morris; great-grandchildren, Will, Nate, Ava, Annsley and Adison; a sister, Ellena Agin (Harold) of Hopewell, N.J.; a brother, John Gurka (Lena) of Hammonton, N.J.; and a niece, Nicole.
Graveside services were held Oct. 22 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.

Scott Durham
EASLEY — Richard Scott Durham, 55, of Hester Store Road, passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at his home.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late William Woodrow Durham and Fannie Elizabeth Ramey Durham.
Scott was self-employed and was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Greenville. He was a hard working man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, racing and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Kendall Holcombe Durham; children, Charley Durham of Easley and Scottie Durham of Williamston; step-children, “Lil” Ricky Hall of Easley, and Nikki Hall and Jennifer Hall, both of Greenville; grandchildren, Amiyah Smith and Major and Maleah Dean; a special friend, Wannette Hall; eight step-grandchildren; a sister, Lynn Knox (Howard) of Easley; and brothers, Bryant Durham (Linda) and Eddie Durham, all of Dacusville, and Gene Hunt (Sybil) of Greenville.
Funeral services were held Oct. 24 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.

Clara Mary Mono Hamilton
CENTRAL — Clara Mary (Mono) Hamilton, of Central, passed into glory Saturday evening, Oct. 7, 2017, in Anderson, with her family at her side.
Clara was the daughter of the late John Henry and Dora Hilda (Odette) Mono of Carthage, N.Y. Clara was born April 28, 1931 in Carthage N.Y. She had 14 siblings that are all deceased, save three; they are David Mono of Carthage, N.Y.; Sheila Revera of Goldsboro, N.C., and Sherry Orton of Carthage, N.Y.
Clara was married to Floyd Martin (Pat) Hamilton of Herman, N.Y., on Oct. 9, 1947.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dora; 11 siblings; her husband, Floyd; daughter, Clara Arlene (PeeWee) (Hamilton) Hutchins; and her granddaughter, Abigail Claire Hamilton.
She was the mother of seven children, Mrs. Donna Kay Drelick (Larry) of Lowville, N.Y., Mrs. Tonicia Theo Bray (Bernie) of Central, Clara Arlene (PeeWee) Hutchins, (deceased), Floyd John (Pajo) Hamilton of Central, Jamie Lance Hamilton of Easley, Billy Joel Hamilton of Chandler, Ariz., and Lon Patrick Hamilton (Tammy) of Central.
Clara was a devout Jehovah’s Witness and was baptized in July 1972 at an International Assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New York City.
Clara was a devoted wife and mother and made her early home on their family farm in Lowville, N.Y. In 1986, she moved to South Carolina. Clara had a passion for studying home remedies and holistic herbalism and many times throughout her life was fondly referred to as Dr. Hamilton because of her knowledge and practical application of home remedies within her family and circle of friends, also because of her knowledge of illnesses and herbal treatments.
Clara had a passion for family genealogy and was the keeper of family history.
She worked in her younger years at the Superior Grill, State St. in Carthage, N.Y. Clara had 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was a truly amazing woman, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service was held Oct. 12 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Floyd John Hamilton
CENTRAL — Floyd John “Pajo” Hamilton, 60, passed on Oct. 16, 2017.
He was born in Carthage, N.Y., on April 25, 1957.
Floyd was the son of the late Floyd Martin (Pat) and Clara Mary (Moro) Hamilton of Central. He had six siblings, one deceased sister, Clara Arlene (Peewee) (Hamilton) Hutchins; and is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Donna Kay Drelick (Larry) of Lowville, N.Y., and Mrs. Tonicia Theo Bray (Bernard) of Central; three brothers Billy Joel Hamilton of Chandler, Ariz., Jamie Lance Hamilton of Easley, and Lon Patrick Hamilton (Tammy) of Central.
Floyd was raised in Carthage, N.Y. He did farm work and logging, was a very talented person and found pleasure in drawing pictures. He married Mary Hoose at a young age and divorced. They had two children together, Johnny Hamilton (Trisha) and Jason Hamilton, and four grandchildren of Soranac Lake, N.Y. Floyd moved to South Carolina in 1991, and he made his home in Central.
A funeral service was held Oct. 19 at New Beginnings Baptist Church, officiated by Preacher Troy Bray and featuring a song by Lon Hamilton.

Patricia Howe
ANDERSON — Patricia Bowen Howe, 75, of Southern Acres, formerly of Robinson Bridge Road, Norris, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at AnMed Health in Anderson.
Born in Cateechee, she was the widow of James Kenneth Howe and a daughter of the late Clarence W. and Zadie Goss Bowen. She was retired from Dayco Automotive and loved her animals and baking for her family and friends. She was a member of Cateechee Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter Shannon Dwozan (Gregg) of Sandy Springs; three sisters, Gail Becknell (Johnny) of Liberty, Beth Whitfield of Anderson and Angela Reynolds of Pickens; a brother, Charlie Bowen (Hazel) of Liberty; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews, and her “special little friend,” Avery Aiken.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Howe will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the Liberty Mortuary chapel. Burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park will follow. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Liberty Mortuary.

Betty Duncan McCoy
PICKENS — Betty Duncan McCoy, 76, wife of George W. McCoy Jr., passed away Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Ross and Geneva Daves Duncan, Mrs. McCoy made her home in Pickens.
Survivors include her husband of the home, sons, Danny Ray Anderson and Brad Anderson, both of Sunset; stepsons, George Victor McCoy (Patty) and Juan Andrew McCoy (Laura); sisters, Shelby Reilly, Geraldine Chapman and Brenda Lewis (Don), all of Pickens; and a grandchild, Jena Anderson of Sunset.
Mrs. McCoy was predeceased by her parents. A graveside service was held Oct. 24 at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

J.B. Turner
EASLEY — J.B. Turner, 83, of 311 Barton St., passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at the Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late John D. and Ella Taylor Turner.
He retired from Alice Manufacturing and enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing and wrestling.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Chastain Turner of the home; four daughters, Judy Howard of Piedmont, Dot Weber of Liberty, Inez Gray of Pickens and Vickie Turner of Easley; two sons, Jerry and Ed Turner, both of Liberty; a sister, Diane Young of Six Mile; two brothers, Calvin Turner of Illinois and Gerald Turner of Pickens; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bill Turner, a daughter-in-law, Lynn Holder Turner, three sisters and two brothers.
