• Trio 2017 set for Nov. 16 in Clemson
The Arts Center of Clemson and Clemson Free Clinic recently announced TRIO 2017 — Art, Food and Spirits at The Arts Center of Clemson, located at 212 Butler St., on Thursday, Nov. 16 from 6-9 p.m.
The event will be a special, fun-filled evening to benefit the two nonprofits serving the Clemson community. Tickets gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy wine and beer tastings, hearty hors d ’oeuvres, a silent auction and music by B.J. Callahan.
Tickets are $40 each or four for $150 and are available at explorearts.org or by calling Clemson Free Clinic at (864) 654-8277. All proceeds benefit The Arts Center of Clemson and Clemson Free Clinic.
Handicapped parking is offered at the Arts Center, while general parking is available behind Beef O’Brady’s at 101 Canoy Lane in Clemson, with frequent round-trip CAT transportation to and from the event. Email info@explorearts.org or call (864) 633-5051 for more information.
• Literacy group needs old books
The Pickens County Literacy Association is collecting books for the Semi Annual Used Book Sale to be held Friday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Pickens Presbyterian Church Social Hall. Book collection sites are listed on the PCLA Facebook page for Pickens, Easley, Liberty, Central and Clemson.

• Meals on Wheels plans Casino Night
Pickens County Meals on Wheels’ Riverboat Casino Night fundraiser is set for Nov. 4, starting 7 p.m.
The event will also feature an auction at the McKissick Center for Senior Wellness in Liberty. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased on the Pickens County Meals on Wheels Facebook page or pcmow.org/events or by calling (864) 606-3745.
• Sertoma Club invites locals to meet
The Clemson Sertoma Club invites all interested local residents to attend its meetings. The club meets at noon the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Occasions at Wedgefield, located at 1551 Eighteen Mile Road in Central. New visitors are welcome.
• Car wash planned to benefit church
A fundraiser car wash for St. Andrew United Methodist Church is planned for this Saturday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the church, located at 309 Pelzer Highway in Easley.
The cost will be $10 per car, but all donations will be accepted.
