Scott Edmiston
LIBERTY — William Scott Edmiston, 64, passed away at his home on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017.
Born and raised in Myrtle Beach, Mr. Edmiston was predeceased by his mother, Emily Belle Williams, and father, James Dewey Edmiston.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Edmiston of the home; brothers, Lawerance Bell and Mark Geisel, both of Myrtle Beach; a sister, CarolTalley of Myrtle Beach; a son, Tim Greathouse (Sherry) of Easley; grandchildren, Heather Edmond (Nathan) Natasha Stamey (Chris) and Christian Angel of Easley; and great-grandchildren Carter and Braylen Edmond and Braden Stamey.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, at Peachtree Senior Village Community Center in Liberty.

Wilma P. McWhorter
PICKENS — Mrs. Wilma P. McWhorter, 90, of Pickens, entered peacefully into heaven to be with her late husband, Walter Cecil McWhorter, on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Manna Health and Rehabilitation.
Born on June 6, 1927, in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Hattie Porter Powell. Mrs. McWhorter was a member of Cannon Mountain Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Sangamo. She enjoyed cooking and camping and loved her family dearly.
She is survived by her two daughters, Evelyn Rackley (Jamie) and Renee McClain (Danny), both of Pickens; four grandchildren, India Rackley, Jennifer Green, Heather Hughes (Justin) and C.J. Rackley; two great-grandchildren, Jared and Brianna Green; three sisters, Bonnie Reeves, Patsy Duncan and Louise Duncan, and one brother, Wallace Powell. Mrs. McWhorter was also predeceased by nine brothers.

Margaret Evelyn Medlin
GREENVILLE — Mrs. Margaret Evelyn Medlin, 85, wife of the late J.T. Medlin, passed away Monday, Dec. 4, 2017.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Joseph Clarence Medlin and Elsie Crane Medlin, Mrs. Medlin was retired from Piedmont Shirt Company after 25 years of service. She was also a cherished member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. She loved sewing and making quilts for her family.
Surviving are sons, Jacky Medlin (Tina) and Terry Medlin (Jan), both of Easley; daughters, Barbara Hunter (Ricky) and Dianne Golden (Roger), both of Greenville; a brother, J.C. Medlin of Easley; a sister, Pat Powell (John) of Norris; numerous grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband and parents, Mrs. Medlin was predeceased by brothers, Pete, Tommy and William Medlin; and a sister, Betty Dixon.
Graveside services were held Dec. 7 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Reverend Dewey William Lewis
PICKENS — The Reverend Dewey William Lewis, 94, husband of the late L.C. “Buck” Powell Lewis, went home to be with The Lord on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017.
Reverend Lewis was born in Pickens County, a son of the late James A. and Nalmer Nealey Lewis. He was retired as a Baptist minister, having served Roanoke, Antioch, Fairview, Winding Creek, West End, Friendly Chapel and White Horse Heights Baptist churches, and he was also retired from Pickens County recycling. A member of the “Greatest Generation,” he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. Reverend Lewis was a member of Cannon Mountain Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, his family, being outdoors, hunting and gardening.
Survivors include sons, Donald Ray Lewis (Brenda) of Pickens and James Edward Lewis (Teresa) of Pickens; and a daughter, Theresa Darlene Lewis of Pickens; daughter-in-law, Linda Lewis of Easley; and sister, Laura Grant of Mauldin. Reverend Lewis is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Reverend Lewis was preceded in death by a son, Otis William Lewis and brothers, Olin Lewis, Welton Lewis and Barney Lewis, and a sister, Azilee Clark.
Services were held Dec. 6 in the Dillard Funeral Home chapel, with burial following at Holly Springs Baptist Church cemetery.

Byron Kenneth “Bud” Webb
CLEMSON — Dr. Byron Kenneth “Bud” Webb, 83, husband of the late Sybil Boatwright Webb, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Clemson Downs.
Dr. Webb was born in Cross Anchor and was the son of the late John Walker and Cora Smith Webb. He was a professor and chair of the Agricultural Engineering Department and dean of the Cooperative Extension Service at Clemson University. He served in the S.C. House of Representatives from 1996 until 2002 and was a member of Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Ken Webb (Jeoung Soo Lee) of Clemson; a grandson, Byron A.L. Webb; and sisters, Mary Hamrick of Spartanburg and Katie Lehman of Pensacola, Fla.
Funeral services were held Dec. 10 at Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church, with burial following in Woodland Cemetery on the Clemson University campus.

Doug Brooks
EASLEY — James Douglas Brooks Jr., 39, of 206 Jones Ave., died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens.
Born in Easley, he was the husband of Rebecca Irwin Brooks and the son of Jo Lynn Whitlock Shockley and her husband, Ronald, of Liberty and James Douglas Brooks Sr. and his wife, Darlene, also of Liberty. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are a daughter, Madison Brooks of the home; a son, Xander Brooks of the home; two stepsisters, Michelle Shockley of Williamston and Amy Wilson of Clemson; two stepbrothers, Marshall Crawford of Anderson and Daniel Shockley of Williamston; and grandparents, Jo Ann and Donald Smith of Liberty and Joe Whitlock of Williamston.
A memorial service for Mr. Brooks was held Dec. 9 in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel.

Sammie C. White
PICKENS — Sammie White, 76, husband of Lois Thomas White, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Piedmont, he was a son of the late C.L. and Grace McConnell White.
Sammie is survived by his wife, Lois, of 20 years of the home; sons, Joe (Harlie) Davis, Tom (Joy) Davis and B.J. (Kayla) Davis, all of Pickens; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service was held Dec. 9 at New Hope Baptist Church in Pumpkintown, officiated by Rev. Justin Anderson and Rev. Mike Collins.

Harold Christopher Grant
EASLEY — Harold Christopher Grant, 95, husband of the late Bernice M. Grant, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at his home.
Mr. Grant was born in Easley and a son of the late Mattie Holcombe Grant and Christopher C. Grant. He was a member of Georges Creek Baptist Church for over 80 years and lived in the Georges Creek community his entire life.
Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Taylor (Frank) of Easley; one son, David Grant of the home; and one brother, Tommy Grant of Easley.
Mr. Grant was predeceased by his wife, parents and one sister, Martha Williams.
Services were held Dec. 8 at Georges Creek Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.

Edith L. France
PICKENS — Edith L. France, widow of Roy H. France, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at her home in Pickens.
Born in Belmont, N.H., on Jan. 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Irene L. Robida of Middletown, Conn.
Surviving are two daughters, Chris Puchel and Mary Heath; and three sons, Leigh Puchel, Noel Puchel (Debi) and Jeffry Puchel. Survivors also include two sisters, Jeanne Hubbard and Barbara Robida; and two brothers, Philip Robida and John Robida (Jane).
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Roy France, son Clifford Puchel, sister Suzanne Smith, and brothers Richard, Paul and Bernard Robida.
Mrs. France was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and played the piano for the Bible class. She was a musical instructor for 30 years and had the only accordion marching band in Connecticut.
A memorial service will be held at a date to be announced at Grace United Methodist Church.

Leslie Suzanne Vaughn
PICKENS — Leslie Suzanne Vaughn, 64, loving wife of Terry Vaughn, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017. She had been battling leukemia for over two and a half years, and the Lord told her that He was ready for her to come home.
Mama was born in Greenville County to Betty Childs Arledge and the late Fred Holden. She was a devoted, loving wife and mama. She loved the Lord with all of her heart, and anyone who met her knew that without a doubt. She was a member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church in Pickens, where she loved to sing in the choir and serve the Lord wherever He called.
Survivors include her husband, Terry, of 46 years, her mother, Betty, her daughters, Kim Myers (Brian) and Amy Finley (Brian), and a brother, Scott Childs.
Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at Blue Ridge View Baptist Church.

Leona Maxine Murrell Moore
EASLEY — Mrs. Leona Maxine Murrell Moore, 89, wife of the late Boyd Franklin Moore Jr., passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Moore was born in the Clinch Mountain/Pumpkin Valley community of Tennessee, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Gonce Murrell. After raising four children, Leona returned to school in her 40s and earned an R.N. degree from Greenville Technical College. She retired from Greenville Hospital System as medical program director. Mrs. Moore was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are four children, Donald B. Moore (Jackie) of Belton, Sandra Moore of Easley, Lynn Moore Clement (Frank G.) of Nashville, Tenn., and Mark S. Moore (Trudi) of Swansea; two brothers, Willard and Joe Murrell, both of Greenville County; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Durham, Susan Finley, Emily Harper, Meg Galipeau, Katie Kehler, Grant Kehler, Ryan Moore and Natalie Moore; and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Moore was predeceased by a sister, Doris Murrell Cooley.
Private graveside services will be held at Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley.
Family members are at their respective homes.

EASLEY — Shirley Anne Bagwell Tolley, loving wife to Morris Edwin Tolley for 50 wonderful years, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Brookdale of Easley.
Born in Easley, a daughter to the late Joseph Calvin Bagwell and Eunice Black Bagwell, Mrs. Tolley was a cherished member of Rock Springs Baptist Church who loved traveling, target shooting, her church and her family.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Scott Tolley (April) of Easley; a daughter, Angela Thompson (Jeff) of Easley; sisters, Francis Black of Easley and Brenda Gilstrap of Pickens; and grandchildren, BreAnn Adcox, Allyson Pomeroy, Ellison Tolley, and Hutchins Tolley, all of Easley.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tolley was predeceased by a brother, Wayne Bagwell; and sisters, Margaret Brown and Teresa Fant.
Funeral services were held Dec. 8 at Rock Springs Baptist Church, with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
