NOTICE TO CITIZENS OF OCONEE

AND PICKENS COUNTY:

Pursuant to the South Carolina Eminent Domain Procedure Act, Section 28-2-70(c), Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, as amended, notice is hereby given that entry by personnel contracted by the South Carolina Department of Transportation will be made in the area of the roads described below for such purposes as topographic surveys, subsurface exploration, environmental related studies and for the gathering of any other data necessary for the planning, development of location alternatives, design, property acquisition and construction of highway improvement projects.

The proposed project includes a paved, ADA compliant, multi-use path along W. Queen Street from Hopewell Road to the trailhead of Seed Orchard Road, for a length of about 1.3 miles. The proposed project is located just south of the City of Clemson in Pickens County. Construction is anticipated to occur in 2021.

The purpose of this project is to provide improved access and an alternative means of transportation between Clemson University and the Advanced Materials campus. Additional rights of way may be needed to construct this project. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, DAVID TROMP, TERRY BYERS, NICHOLAS THORNTON, GREGORY HUNSINGER, AND, ANY AND ALL UNKNOWN FATHERS, and/or persons claiming to have a parental interest in the minor children named above. The mother of the children is Crystal Ayers.

YOU ARE NOTIFIED that a petition for termination of parental rights has been filed in regard to said children in the Juvenile Court of Paulding County, Georgia and that by reason of an Order for service by publication entered by the court on the 23rd day of May, 2018.

YOU ARE HEREBY COMMANDED AND REQUIRED to appear before the Juvenile Court of Paulding County, Georgia, in Dallas, Georgia, on the 26th day of July, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. The hearing is for the purpose of determining whether parental rights should be terminated. The result of such hearing could be permanent loss of any and all rights to the children. A copy of the petition for termination of parental rights may be obtained from the Clerk of the Paulding County Juvenile Court, which is located at 280 Constitution Boulevard, Dallas, Georgia 30132, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., exclusive of holidays. A free copy shall be available to you. Upon request the copy will be mailed to you. The children are in the temporary legal custody of the Paulding County Division of Family and Children Services.

The general nature of the allegations is that the children are dependent, the dependency is likely to continue and that it is in the children’s best interest that parental rights be terminated.

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that while responsive pleadings are not mandatory, they are permissible and you are encouraged to file with the Clerk of this Court and serve upon Petitioner’s attorney, Gayle Abramson, 110 Evans Mill Drive, Suite 402, Dallas, Georgia 30157, an answer or other responsive pleading within sixty (60) days of the date of the order for service by publication.

You are further notified that all concerned parties are informed that they are entitled to have an attorney represent them, and if a party is entitled to counsel during the proceedings, the Court will appoint counsel, if the party applies for and is determined to qualify for Court appointed counsel.
