Child Development Center hosting Fall Festival Oct. 27
PICKENS — The leaves are changing and fall is in the air. Families are invited to enjoy the fall weather by coming out for a day of music, food and fun at Pickens Presbyterian Church. The church’s Child Development Center is hosting a free, fall festival on Saturday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 311 West Main Street in Pickens.
Highlights of the day’s event will include inflatables and games for the children, as well as child performances by Foothills Dance Company, A Tae Kwon Do Demonstration, the Sweet Potato Pies and Steve Holtz will be performing a Magic Show at 10:30 a.m.
Live entertainment will be provided by Pine Top Revival. Pine Top Revival is an Upstate-based bluegrass band. Their instrumental and vocal arrangements spring from the soulful traditions and influences of first generation performers like Bill Monroe, The Osborne Brothers, and Flatt and Scruggs yet speaks to hearts of all listeners with a blend of youthful and energetic artistry. Together, these musicians have created a unique blend of high energy that captures the attention of audiences of all ages.
A silent auction will take place featuring many great items. Hamburger and hotdog plates will be available for purchase.
“We are excited to offer this free event to our community,” said Karen Durham, Director of the child development center. “We hope everyone will bring their lawn chairs and their children out for a fun-filled day of entertainment. In addition, we’re very proud of our preschool program and would love for parents to check out our facility. We have agreed to waive the registration fee for anyone who enrolls their child in our program that day.”
