Louise S. Keasler

Pickens — Sarah Louise Stewart Keasler, 74, of Red Hill Road, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012.

Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late William Jackson Stewart, Sr. and Grace Brucke Stewart. Mrs. Keasler was a homemaker and member of Red Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband of the home, Bailey Keasler; her children, Mike Keasler (Wendy) of Pickens, Susan Kastner (Ernie) of Mauldin, David Keasler (Bettina) of Pickens and Joy Keasler of Greenville; three grandchildren, Andrew Kastner, Bailey Keasler, and D.J. Keasler; and a sister, Mary Alice Craig of Pickens.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother William Jackson “Jack” Stewart, Jr.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Glenn W. Day

Pickens — Glenn William Day, of Farrs Bridge Road, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012.
Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Marvin and Pearl Simmons Day. Mr. Day was retired from Ryobi. He was a member of Blue Ridge View Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran.

Surviving is his wife of the home, Bertha Clark Day; two daughters, Judy Seawright (Junior) and Tammy Whitlock (Christopher) all of Pickens; two grandchildren, Randy Whitehead of Anderson and Travis Whitehead of Liberty; five great granddaughters; a sister, Catherine Bowen of Easley; and a brother, Roger Day of Pickens.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Day and two brothers, Cleo Day and Paul Day.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Pat Black

Liberty — Patricia “Pat” Black, 61, wife of Johnny Black, died at home Dec. 10, 2012.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Ben Beck, Michelle Bolton, and Josh Beck; one step daughter, Dody Burgess; six grandchildren, Matthew, Emileigh, Nate, Drew, Kara-Ann, and Natalie; two brothers and three sisters, John Alexander, David Alexander, Linda Lewis, Martha Harris, and Mary O’Neil.

Predeceased were her parents, James Edward and Dixie Turpin Alexander; and a sister, Deborah Alexander.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15 at the residence.

Donna Dolby

Easley — Donna Louise Dolby, 68, of Easley, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at Emeritus Senior Living.

Born in Santiago, Chile, she was a daughter of Alice Brown Dolby and late Howard Mahlon Dolby. Donna became a resident of Easley after living her younger years in Maine. She was a graduate of Easley High School class of 1962 where she was a saxophonist for Easley High band. She later graduated from Clemson University. She was a private duty nurse and retired as an RN. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Easley and Greenville First Assembly of God.

Surviving in addition to her mother, are two sisters, Carol Norwood (Robert) of Polk City, Fla. and Naomi D. Jipping (Bill)of Columbus, Ohio, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces.

A memorial service was 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

Louise Tant

Liberty — Louise Mauldin Tant, 91, of 102 East Beattie Street, died peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at Baptist Easley Hospital.

Born in Liberty she was the widow of Jesse James Tant and a daughter of the late Fulton and Minnie Nations Mauldin. She retired from Woodside Mills and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mildred “Mickie” Simmons of the home; a son, Randy (Tant) Davenport of Liberty; a sister, Selma Sentell of Central; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Gordy Tant.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Tant were 2 p.m. Saturday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial was at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

Evelyn Henson

Easley — Evelyn Addington Henson, 84, of 576 Latham Road, wife of the late Elbert David Henson, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Larry “LT” and Grace Looper Addington, Mrs. Henson retired from Kent Wool Corp. and was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two brothers, Joe Addington and Jack Addington, both of Easley; a sister, Betty Raines of Easley; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Henson was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Louis Addington and James Addington.

Funeral services were 12 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Dean Ellison

Liberty — Oliver Dean Ellison, 60, of 333 Amsterdam Road died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at his residence.

Born in Easley, he was the husband of Robbie Jo Sanders Ellison of the home a son of the late Dormwell James “D.J.” and Ethelee Stokes Ellison. He was employed with Ray Walker Trucking Company and was of the Church of God faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son and daughter in law Harold William and Cami Reid of Liberty; and a grandson, Braedon Xaiver Reid.

Jessie B. Barrett

Pickens — Mrs. Jessie Bagwell Barrett, 94, formerly of Jewell Street and wife of the late Thurmond O. Barrett, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012.

Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Forrest Lee Bagwell, Sr. and Hazel Atkins Bagwell. Mrs. Barrett was a homemaker and member of Pickens Church of God.

Surviving are her daughters, Judy Barrett Pace, Barbara Barrett Trotter (David) and Toni Barrett Turner (David) all of Pickens; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Frances Brezeale of Simpsonville; and two brothers, Forrest Lee Bagwell, Jr. of Pickens and Calvin Early Bagwell of Easley.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Tim Mathis

Central — Timothy “Tim” Paul Mathis, 52, of 1082 Maw Bridge Road, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at Cannon Memorial Hospital.

Born in Greenville he was a son of the late Sam Milton Mathis.

Surviving are his wife, Sherry Ford Mathis of the home; his mother, Frances M. Mathis of Liberty; two daughters, Alexis and Lacey Mathis both of the home; a son, William Devin Mathis of the home; a sister, Elaine Cole of Little River; a brother, Andy Mathis of Liberty.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Milton Mathis.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Westview Cemetery in Liberty.

Helen R. Sexton

Easley — Helen Reece Sexton, 71, of 408 Graham Street, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at her home.

Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Duke and Pauline Nix Reece, Mrs. Sexton retired from the Glenwood Plant of Mayfair Mills and was a member of Open Praise Fellowship.

Surviving are her husband, William W. Sexton of the home; a son, Roger Sexton (Lisa) of Seneca; a daughter, Michelle Powell (Jason) of Pickens; two brothers, Ralph Reece of Liberty and Carl Reece of Pickens; three sisters, Mildred Derossett and Jean Capell, both of Pickens, and Linda Finley of Easley; six grandchildren, Kaley Powell, Cody Powell, Lynette Brackett, Amber Wirtz, Bill Sexton, Joey Sexton and Ronnie Rogers; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sexton was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Martin and by a granddaughter, Crystal Sexton.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday Open Praise Fellowship with the Rev. Roland Bearden and the Rev. Doug Saylors officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown and will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday

Joe H. Holder

Pickens — Joe Hezekiah Holder, 94, of Pickens, died on Dec. 16, 2012.
Born in Oconee County, he was the son of the late Abraham and Alice Hall Holder. A lifetime member of Ruhamah Baptist Church, he loved the Lord and decided that it was time to be with his maker.

Along with his long life, he leaves behind a brother, Bill Holder of Six Mile. Mr. Holder will also be leaving behind his daughter, Nanci K. Bradberry; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and all his friends and co-workers from Singer, where he worked 35 years. Mr. Holder had a niece that he loved and adored who loved and adored him also, Nellie Skinner.

In his travel to the Kingdom of Heaven, he will be met by his deceased daughter, Linda Jo Churchwell, where they will love us from above.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Joe will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will meet with friends at the graveside following the service.

Claude McAlister

Easley — Claude Edward McAlister, 75, of Easley, husband of the late Mary Evelyn Looper McAlister, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, a son of the late Jessie Bennett and Bessie McAlister, Mr. McAlister was owner of C & R Auto Machine Shop and attended Marathon Community Church.

Surviving are a son, Robert McAlister (Tonya) of Easley; two daughters, Glenda Ballentine of Easley and Linda Byce (David) of North Myrtle Beach; a brother, JD McAlister of Williamston; and three grandchildren, Katelyn and Kendra McAlister and Trammell Byce.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 at Marathon Community Church.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
