• Pickens County WPO offers a chance to meet new friends
Pickens County Widowed Persons Organization provides an opportunity for widowed persons to come together and make new friends.

• Carolina Community Church to host singing
Coming soon, one of the best quartets in South Carolina, The Kings Cause will perform at Carolina Commumity Church located at 132 Front St. in Liberty.
The group performed at the state convention and will be heard in Liberty on March 10 at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

• Gap Hill Baptist hosts Mission Fundraiser
Gap Hill Baptist Church is hosting a mission dinner fundraiser in the fellowship hall on Sunday, February 17th. A variety of warm homemade soups and chili beans and large pans of baked spaghetti will be ready to serve after morning worship service.
Your choice will also include a salad and your selection of bread and dessert, with tea included. A donation of $8 for adults and $4 for children is suggested.
The community is invited to participate. All donations will go towards the upcoming Dominican Republic mission trip which includes medical, dental and construction efforts.
• Stamp Creek to hold special services
Stamp Creek Baptist Church will have a series of messages on “Family” each Sunday morning the month of February. Sunday School will be held at 10:30 a.m., with Worship Hour at 11 a.m.

• Benefit for Gene Hughes set for Feb. 23
Amazing Grace Fellowship will be hosting a benefit along with his sisters for cancer patient Gene Hughes of Dacusville on Saturday, Feb. 23.
Hot dog plates and baked goods will be sold from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Singing is set to start at 6 p.m., featuring Soul Vision from Hendersonville, N.C. The church is located at 229 Pearl St. in Pickens. Everyone is invited.
• Holly Springs Baptist to hold singing Feb. 17
Holly Springs Baptist Church will present the Singing Christians in concert this Sunday night, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m.
The church is located at 3450 Table Rock Rd. in Pickens.
• Soapstone to host meal fundraiser
Soapstone Church is inviting everyone to a special fundraiser at the church, located at 296 Liberia Road in Pickens, this Saturday, February 16. The event will feature fine cooking and will be held from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Visitors will enjoy true southern cooking including a fish fry, barbecue and fried chicken with all the fixings right from Mrs. Mabel’s kitchen.

• PMA to hold Lenten services at churches
The Pickens Ministerial Association will hold its weekday community Lenten Service/ meals at local congregations again this year. Services are Tuesdays at noon, and a light lunch will follow. The schedule is as follows:
Feb. 20: Pickens View Wesleyan Church — hosting/meal. Feb. 27: Faith Lutheran Chapel — hosting/meal. March 5: Pickens Presbyterian Church — hosting/meal. March 12: Griffin Ebenezer Baptist Church — hosting/meal. March 19: Grace United Methodist Church — hosting/meal. March 29: Good Friday service — Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Offering collected for the services will help the Jane Morris fuel fund at Pickens Presbyterian Church. A food drive for Gleaning House will be held in conjunction with the Alan Shawn Feinstein/Feinstein Foundation.
