Looper retains seat on Blue Ridge board
PICKENS — Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative once again this year conducted its annual meeting of members by utilizing a drive-thru registration procedure.
This process replaced the traditional meeting format that, until last year, had seen several thousand members and guests gather together at the power supplier’s Pickens equipment facility. The cooperative’s management determined that the pandemic had not yet reached a stage wherein it would be safe to host that many people in such close quarters.
Blue Ridge members could select one of two days — last Wednesday or Thursday — to drive their vehicles to the cooperative’s Oconee or Pickens office in order to complete their registration. During
