Griffin Mason receives Eagle Scout award
EASLEY — At a ceremony Aug. 6 at Easley First United Methodist church, Griffin Mason was presented the Eagle Scout award, the highest award a youth can earn in the Boy Scouts of America.
Mason graduated from Pickens High School as the valedictorian and a National Merit Scholar. He will be attending the University of Miami in the fall on a full scholarship to study marine biology and ecology. Mason’s parents are Mike and Kay Mason, and his older sister is Anne Mason.
At PHS, Mason lettered in basketball, soccer and cross-country, was editor-in-chief of the school newspaper and was a teacher cadet. He is an Eagle Scout with Troop 37 and loves art. He is also a classical pianist and a lifelong member of Easley First United Methodist Church.
