Each month, Boxwood Manor, located in Pendleton, and Collins Ole Towne, located in Central, are sites for Story Time Plus programs and Homeschool Days. Story Time Plus runs 10-11:30 a.m. and is designed for ages 8 and under. Admission is $3 for each child age 5 or older, with a $10 household maximum. Homeschool Day runs from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and is designed for ages 6 through 14. Admission is $5 for ages 6 and over, with a $15 household maximum.

United Wesleyan to host fall vendor fair
On Saturday, Sept. 18, the United Wesleyan Church – Easley will host its fall vendor fair from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the United Wesleyan Church Lifeline Building. Visitors will be able to shop from local vendors, craft show and bake sale. The church will be offering a breakfast of biscuits, coffee and juice from 8-10:30 a.m. Lunch will also be available from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., with philly cheese steak sloppy joes, chips, water and soft drinks. The United Wesleyan Church is located at 738 Rice Road in Easley. All proceeds will benefit the church’s Operation Christmas Child shoebox ministry.
- Soapstone to hold fish fry September 18
Soapstone Church invites everyone to a special fundraiser at the church, located at 296 Liberia Road in Pickens, on Saturday, Sept. 18. The event will feature fine cooking and will be held from noon-8 p.m. Visitors will enjoy true Southern cooking, including a fish fry, barbecue and fried chicken with all the fixings right from Ms. Mable’s kitchen.
