WILLIAM HAROLD MCJUNKIN
PICKENS — Mr. William Harold McJunkin, 93, passed peacefully on Sept. 17, 2021, at his home.
He was born in Pickens County, and was the son of the late Henry Eugene (Gene) McJunkin and Ethel Williams McJunkin. Harold was the loving and devoted husband of the late Mary Lee Ellison McJunkin.
Surviving are one brother, Donald McJunkin, and one sister, Nannie Bet Boggs (Tommy) of Pickens, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Mr. McJunkin was predeceased by sisters Azilee Evette, Blanche Tucker and Ellen Boggs; and a brother, B.F. McJunkin.
Mr. McJunkin served in the United States Air Force and worked throughout his life as a carpenter and vegetable and cattle farmer. He was a lifelong resident of Pickens County and member at Pickens First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Pickens County Cattleman’s Association, American Simmental Association and a past commissioner of the Pickens County Soil and Water Conservation District for 10 years.
A funeral service was held on Sept. 21 at the Dillard Funeral Home chapel. Burial followed the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Rev. Lee Boggs officiated.
In honor of Mary and Harold’s love of children, memorials may be made to Pickens First Baptist Church Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, 406 E. Main St., Pickens, SC 29671.

REX EDWARD CAUTHEN
EASLEY — Mr. Rex Edward Cauthen, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sept. 15, 2021.
He was born in Central and grew up in Travelers Rest. He was the son of the late Prince Edward Cauthen and Claudine Etheridge Cauthen. Rex was husband of the late Elaine Allgood Cauthen.
Surviving are a daughter, Mandy (Scott) Roberts of Taylors, a grandson, Brandon Roberts, and a granddaughter, Lexie Roberts. Also surviving are a brother, Hart (Connie) Cauthen of Marietta; a sister, Nancy (Danny) Hawkins of Easley; and a stepsister, Hope (Steve) Lotheridge of Piedmont.
Mr. Cauthen was predeceased by a brother, Mike Cauthen.
Mr. Cauthen was the retired owner/operator of Carolina Storage Buildings in Easley. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his grandson. He served his country in the United States Army. Rex was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, where he volunteered as a shuttle bus driver until his health declined. He was always reaching out to others to help in any way that he could.
A funeral service was held on Sept. 20 at the Dillard Funeral Home chapel, with a visitation that same day at the funeral home. Burial followed the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

BENNY C. MERCK
SIX MILE — Benny C. Merck, 69, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.
Benny was born in Six Mile on Nov. 21, 1951. He was the son of the late Calvin Leonard “Shorty” and Ozell Kelly Merck.
A loving companion and friend to Martha Galloway of Six Mile, he was also a loving brother to Doris Evans and her husband Dan of Clemson; uncle to Michelle Evans Craven and her husband Bruce; and great-uncle to Evan and Holden Craven. Though Benny didn’t have children of his own, he loved and considered Brian Galloway (Lisa) and Tosha Galloway (Travis) as his own, as well as grandchildren Walker and Grayson Galloway and Jacob, Brianna, Savanna and Warren Greene.
Benny was a retired construction worker. He loved his dog Daisy, his cattle and all of his animals. He enjoyed going to family gatherings and auctions. He attended Six Mile Church of God of Prophecy.
The family received friends on Sept. 20 at Dillard Funeral Home. Funeral services followed in the Dillard Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Gene Durham, Rev. Dewain Willis and Rev. Keith Kelly officiating. Burial was held at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

CALVIN MITCHELL CHAPPELL
EASLEY — Calvin Mitchell Chappell, 71, husband of Jere Trotter Chappell, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, surrounded by his family.
He was born March 7, 1950, in Pickens, the son of Preston and Mary Dean Chappell.
Calvin enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved watching his grandson race cars.
Calvin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jere of Easley; three daughters, Melissa Mote, Toni Wood (Doug) and Amanda Page (Lee), all of Easley; a sister, Marie Belt (Danny) of Easley; four grandchildren, Mitchell Mote (Jessie), Cory Wood (Reachale), Keeli Wood and Raegan Page; and two great-grandchildren, Makenzye Wood and McCoy Mote.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Buster Ellison, Billy Chappell and Charles Ray Chappell.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 17 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Downtown, with interment following at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

FREDDIE MCALISTER
CENTRAL — Frederick Cecil “Freddie” McAlister, 64, of Mountain View Drive, died on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Jimmy McAlister and the late Ruth Smith Fisher.
Freddie was a godly man who loved Clemson football and reading his bible. Freddie loved praying for and with others, laughing and always wearing a smile on his face. He was also known as the family prayer warrior. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with, as well as those he reached but never met.
Surviving are his four children, Kristin Freeman of Liberty, Brittani Lee of Seneca, Joshua (Tammy) McAlister of Newry and Brooke (Travis) Francis of Rincon, Ga. Also surviving are his brothers, Keith (Janet) McAlister of Norris and Paul (Cathey) McAlister of Pendleton. Freddie also had seven grandchildren, Chace, Hunter, Samual, Landon, Lucas, Marley and Tyler, and one great-grandchild, Amara.
Graveside services to honor the life of Mr. McAlister will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Friday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. In keeping with Freddie’s nature, the family will hold a private viewing.

JOHN DALE WILLIS
EASLEY — Mr. John Dale Willis, 60, husband of Sharon Phillips Willis, passed away on Friday, Sept.17, 2021.
Born in Pickens County, the son of the late John Paul Willis and the late Sarah Margaret Evatt Willis, Mr. Willis was a 1979 graduate of Easley High School and held two associate degrees. Captain Willis served as a firefighter for 34 years and retired from the Easley Fire Department with 22 years of service. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
John was well loved by all due to his smile, stories, humor and willingness to help everyone. He loved the outdoors and hunting, but his greatest love was for his family and friends. John will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 35 years, are his son, Jonathan Willis (Marina Powell) of Beaufort; his daughter, Emily Willis of Easley; his three sisters, Ann Bolding (Ray), Doris Herron and Mary Medlin (Micky), all of Easley; Heather Hennesse (Jeff) of Easley; and his mother-in-law, Mary Phillips of Easley.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The staff members of the Easley Fire Department and their spouses will serve as escorts of honor.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

LARRY DEAN BAGWELL
EASLEY — Mr. Larry Dean “Coach” Bagwell, 84, husband of Lunita Garrett “Lu” Bagwell, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021.
Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Ola Bruce Bagwell and the late Lillie Maude Owens Bagwell, Mr. Bagwell was a 1955 graduate of Easley High School, where he excelled in football as both quarterback and lineman. He later received his Master’s degree from Clemson University, where he played baseball and participated in the College World Series two years in a row. His college baseball career led him to play semi-pro ball for the Washington Senators in the Florida State League.
Mr. Bagwell coached football at Easley High School from 1967 to 1992, where he led the Green Wave to two state championships. Not only was he inducted into the Easley High School Hall of Fame, he was also inducted into the South Carolina Coaches Hall of Fame. His coaching accomplishments and leadership led him to receive many awards, and having a gym and ballfield named in his honor.
Mr. Bagwell served as a councilman for the city of Easley for three decades and mayor from 2008 to 2019. During his term, Mayor Bagwell worked closely with city council and city employees on revitalizing the downtown area, including the West End District and developing the Doodle Trail. In his last term, Mayor Bagwell was awarded the Order of the Palmetto for his service and leadership to Easley.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 64 years, are his two daughters, Terri Bagwell Knight and Lou Anne Bagwell Johnson (Joe), both of Easley; his sister, Evelyn B. McEntyre (Verlon) of Easley; four grandchildren, Kasi Wilson (Charlie), Michael Dillon Knight, Jessica Johnson and Jeremy Johnson (Faith); four great-grandchildren, Garrett Wilson, Cayden Ballard, Cooper Wilson and Clark Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Bella.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bagwell was predeceased by two brothers, Bobby Bagwell and Charles Bagwell.
Memorial services were held on Sept. 20, at Easley First United Methodist Church. Private entombment will take place in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.
There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Bagwell lay in state on Sept. 19 at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

BRIAN CHRISTOPHER WHITNEY
EASLEY — Brian Christopher Whitney, 62, husband of Janine Dawson Whitney, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.
Born in Plainfield, N.J., a son of Leonard Whitney of Alpha, N.J., and the late Elizabeth Tomesco Whitney, Brian was a retired Electrician who loved woodworking.
Brian was a man of Christian faith and loved to read his Bible. He had a passion for playing the drums, looking for treasures at yard sales and going to the Jockey Lot. His greatest love was for his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 33 years, are three sons, Christopher Whitney (Alanna), Kevin Whitney (Haley) and Matt Whitney (April), all of Easley; three brothers, Wayne Whitney (Belinda) of Alpha, N.J., Mark Whitney (Doreen) of Gillette, N.J., and Dale Whitney (Kathleen) of Hampton, N.J.; a sister, Fay Matalenas (Michael) of Alpha, N.J.; and four grandchildren, Emily, Noah, Brooks and Miles Whitney.
In addition to his mother, Brian was predeceased by a brother, Scott Whitney.
The family received friends on Sept. 18, at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, Easley.
A private graveside service was held at the Robinson Memorial Gardens.

JIMMY BUSBY
LIBERTY — James William “Jimmy” Busby, 56, of Shadow Hills Drive, died on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at Prisma Health-Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of William Floyd and Jeannie Tucker Busby.
Mr. Busby was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Gulf War era. He was an avid coin collector and loved spending time with his family.
Surviving, in additon to his parents, are a son, Jared Busby of Illinois; a daughter, Joelle Busby of Illinois; a sister, Debra Eades of Greenville; two brothers, Todd Busby of Liberty and Brandon Busby of Iva; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Jennifer Heinhorst.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Heather Busby Hammond.

EASLEY — Mr. Mizael Pagan Cabrera, 51, husband of Alexandra Cabrera, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021.
Born in Cuba, a son of the late Benjamin Cabrera and the late Esther Pagan Cabrera, Mr. Cabrera retired from the printing industry.
Mizael loved working on cars, but his greatest love was for his family and providing for them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his son, Julian Cabrera of the home; his two brothers, Andres Cabrera (Rosa) of Liberty and Santiago Cabrera (Yolanda) of New Jersey; his sister, Esther Maria Mathews (Irving) of Anderson; his father-in-law, Jorge Fernandez of New York; his mother-in-law, Marta Tobon of South America; and numerous nieces and nephews.

GREG J. TURNER
EASLEY — Gregory Joe “Greg” Turner, 61, of Easley, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at his home.
Born in Easley, he was the son of the late Joe Donnie Turner.
Greg was a retired police officer. He was a true entrepreneur, owning several businesses in Easley and Greenville, including several fireworks stores.
Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Diane “Lynn” Dalton Turner; and nieces and nephews, Shaun Dalton (Amy) of Pelzer and their children, Kai, Jovie and Emma.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his beloved dog, Solomon.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 18 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with entombment following in Robinson Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

RONALD C. BATES
EASLEY — Ronald Carl Bates, 80, husband of the late Emma Davis Bates, passed away on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021.
Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Carl Bates and Gloria Seagle Maw.
Mr. Bates was a retired owner in the heating and air industry. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Greenville and a lifetime member of the Brandon Masonic Lodge No. 279 A.F.M., where he was past worshipful master and a 32nd degree Scottish Rites KCCH. He enjoyed shopping on television, and in his younger years, drag racing. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are a son, James Karl Bates (Leisa) of Greer; daughters, Paula Bates Fortenberry (Leland) of Campobello and Victoria Bates Griffin (Alan) of Evans, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a stepbrother, David Nelson Bates of Raleigh, N.C.; and a stepsister, Elaine Wade of Lebanon, Tenn.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Christine Bates Pace; sisters, Donna Courtamanche and Sherian Ann Welsh; and a brother, Richard Virgil Bates.
Graveside services were held on Sept. 16 at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Road, Simpsonville, SC, 29681.

MARGARET BRAGG
EASLEY — Margaret Lenaet Bragg, 77, of Easley, walked through the gates of Heaven on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021.
She was born in Liberty on Nov. 18, 1943, a daughter of the late Leonard R. Crumpton and the late Louise Wilson Crumpton.
Lenaet was a 1963 graduate of Parker High School and was a waitress at Ryan’s Steakhouse for more than 20 years. She was most proud of being a homemaker. Lenaet loved her family, and especially her granddogs, Marlin and Patch.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Chapman (Eddie) of Easley; a brother, Keith Crumpton; a sister, Markola McLaughlin; grandchildren, Brandon Harvey (Jennifer), Jimmy Chapman (Renee) and Julie Harmon (Elmo); and great-grandchildren, Bentlee Harvey, Lexi Harvey, Thomas Chapman, James Chapman, David Chapman, Zoey Chapman, Madison Pruitt, Brianna Aiken, Brooklyn Aiken and Sierra Harmon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. Burial will follow at Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
The family is at the home of Tammy Chapman.
TIMOTHY MEDLIN
EASLEY — Timothy James “Tiny” Medlin, 48, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at Prisma Health-Baptist Easley.
Born in Greer, he was a son of Calvin James Medlin of Campebello and Hazel Case Martin of Easley.
Tim enjoyed watching any kind of sports, especially the Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed model cars and spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a daughter, Sarah Faith Medlin of Anderson; a son, Aaron Medlin of Mauldin; two sisters, Jessica Burton (Michael) of Easley and Michelle Serrano of Sacremento, Calif.; two brothers, Michael Medlin (Minnie) of Ravenna, Ohio and Scott Medlin of Campobello; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.

JAMES C. POWELL
PICKENS — James Carl Powell, 73, husband of Karen Powell, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
Born in Pickens County, son of the late Forrest Freeman Powell and Mae Robinson Powell, Mr. Powell spent the majority of his working career repairing railway box cars and rebuilding locomotives. He was an active member of Griffin Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Mr. Powell was a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 49 years, are one daughter, Melissa Powell, and one son, Ben Powell of Pickens; two brothers, Forrest Powell (Linda) and Steve Powell of Pickens; three sisters, Doris Garrett of Six Mile, and Louise Pace (Joe) and Martha Porter (David), both of Pickens; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Powell of Easley; and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Also surviving was the light of his life, a granddaughter, McKinlee Skye Powell.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Powell was predeceased by three brothers; Sam Powell, Gene Powell and Howard Powell; one sister, Millie O’Donald; and two brothers-in-law, Harold Garrett and Albert O’Donald.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2410 Gentry Memorial Highway, Pickens, SC 29671. WANDA MCCUEN
Dacusville — Wanda Faye Ellenburg McCuen, 79, of Dacusville, wife of almost 50 years to Henry Alton McCuen, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021.
Born in Easley, she was a daughter of the late Truman D. and Ila Harvey Ellenburg.
Wanda was a member of Nine Forks Baptist Church for 57 years. She loved her family, church and many friends she made throughout her life. She enjoyed playing piano for services and events at Easley Place. She worked many jobs throughout the years, mostly serving others. Her passions included music, genealogy and crafts.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna Hall of Dacusville, Karol Raines (Chris) of Mauldin, and Gayle Amos of Liberty; grandchildren, Ben Hall (Becky), Lisa Crumpton (Charles), Amy Hansen (Nathan), Kiaya Evatt (Daniel), Chris Amos (Kelsey), Kristin Raines and Colin Raines; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Anthony (Tony) Alton McCuen, and a sister, Joyce Ellenburg Robinson.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 23, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the parlor of Nine Forks Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at noon. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

LIBERTY — Susan Rebecca Robinson Bowen, 73, of Black Bottom Road, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital Downtown.
Born in Liberty, she was the wife of Bernard Arthur Bowen for more than 53 years and a daughter of the late James Victor “J.V.” and Edna Mildred Hunter Robinson. She was a caregiver and loved spending time with her family. She loved serving the Lord and was a 35-year member of Calumet Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and served on many different committees.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Sonya Garrett (Trip) of Liberty; a son, Jeffrey Bowen (Mary Ann) of Pickens; a brother, Wayne Robinson of Pickens; a sister, Eugenia Tichenor of Seneca; and two grandchildren, Caleb and Marla Bowen, both of Pickens.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Bowen will be held at Calumet Baptist Church at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, conducted by Rev. Jeffrey Harris and Rev. Gerald Martin. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30-3 p.m. at Calumet Baptist Church. Private burial will be held at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

SCOTT DWAYNE RICHARDSON SR.
EASLEY — Mr. Scott Dwayne Richardson Sr., 51, husband of Rebecca Lemar “Becky” Richardson, passed away on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021.
Mr. Richardson was born in Pickens County, a son of Margaret Anne Burdine Richardson of Easley and the late James Edward Richardson Sr.
Scott was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He loved spending time outside on his farm, caring for his many animals. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. Scott and Becky enjoyed 21 years of building a life together. He was a valued employee of Panelmatic Inc. and always had great stories to tell about time spent with co-workers. Scott was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are a son, Scott Dwayne Richardson Jr. and a daughter-in-law, Angel Nichole Richardson, along with a granddaughter, Kynleigh Anne Richardson, of Easley; a daughter, Prisyla Nancy Memphis Belle Richardson of Easley; a step-son, Steven Dewayne Seay II of Liberty; and two brothers, James Edward “Jamie” Richardson Jr. (Beth) and Jeffrey David “Jeff” Richardson, both of Easley.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 20 at Cross Roads Baptist Church, Easley. Burial followed in the Cedar Rock Baptist Church cemetery in Easley.
The family received friends prior to the service at the church.

WALLACE EDWARD CURTIS
PICKENS — Wallace Edward Curtis, 85, loving husband of 63 years to the late Elizabeth Youngblood Curtis, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.
A native of Pickens County, Wallace was born Aug. 2, 1936, as a son of the late Christie Curtis and Pauline Curtis. Mr. Curtis was a U.S. Army veteran and a faithful member of Glassy Mountain Baptist Church in Pickens.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Curtis of Abbeville and Ronnie Curtis (Melissa) of Pickens; four daughters, Sandy Blair, Sherry Barnes (Matt), Tracey James (Richard) and Khristy Chapman, all of Pickens; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Wallace was the last surviving member of his family.
Mr. Curtis was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Elizabeth Youngblood Curtis.
A funeral service for family only was held on Sept. 17 in the sanctuary of Glassy Mountain Baptist Church.
Mr. Curtis lay in state at Mountain View Funeral Home on Sept. 16 and 17 for anyone wishing to pay their respects. PICKENS — Anthony Duane Duncan, 49, husband of Mary Alice Gilstrap Duncan, passed away from this life on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021.
Anthony was born in Easley, son of Cynthia Ellenburg Duncan and Kenneth Duncan of Pickens.
Survivors also include his wife; one stepdaughter, Kelsy Olivares (Miguel) of Easley; and one sister, Mary Ann Duncan of Liberty.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Anthony was predeceased by his grandparents, Clifton and Lois Ellenburg.

FRANKLIN ‘FRANKIE’ LOWELL MCCALL JR.
EASLEY — Franklin “Frankie” Lowell McCall Jr., 51, loving husband of eight years to Karen R. McCall, passed away from this life on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
A native of Pickens County, Frankie was born Oct. 14, 1969, a son of the late Lowell Van Franklin McCall and Bobbie Ellenburg Powell. He enjoyed fishing, playing music and singing and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Karen McCall; a daughter, Isabella McCall; a sister, Pebbles Nabors; a brother, Gene McCall; two nieces, Angel Pelfrey of Pickens and Gabby Nabors of Six Mile; and two nephews, William Wilkey and Noah Wilkey, both of Spartanburg.
A memorial service to honor Frankie’s life will be held at a later date.

PICKENS — Ginger Annette Dodson, 58, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at Pruitt Health – Pickens.
A native of Pickens County, Ginger was born April 11, 1963, a daughter of the late Keith Edward Dodson and Barbara Annette Mason Dodson.
Ms. Dodson was survived by a brother, Allen Dodson of Pickens, and a special friend, Rebecca Moore.
In addition to her parents, Ginger was predeceased by a brother, Keith Dodson.
The family will be at the home of Mr. Allen Dodson.

GENE FINLEY
EASLEY — Milton Eugene Finley, 65, of Edgewood Court, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Ossie C. Finley and Edith Rouda Finley.
Mr. Finley was employed as a semi-truck driver with Bilo Grocery, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, shooting his guns and cheering on his Clemson Tigers football team. Gene attended Tremont Church of God.
Surviving are his wife, Cathy Williams Finley; his children, Carrie F. Buddin (Glenn) of New Zion, Alicia J. Alexander (Dennis) of Pickens and Jason Finley of Pickens; his children’s mother, Karen Finley of Pickens; grandchildren, Allen, Jacob and Joey Casali, Tyler and Brayden Usery, Sean and Daniel Buddin, Bryce, Megan and Tyler Alexander, and Hailey and Kylie Finley; great-grandchildren, Zoey and Ellie Casali, Bryleigh Sapp, and Easton and Kaysleigh Alexander; stepchildren, Rene Bryant (Charles) of Easley, Kevin Jordan (Jamie) of Greenville and Dale Jordan (Nichola) of Taylors; step-grandchildren, Ashley McElrath, Breanna Howard, Alyssa Brant, Morgan Overton, Vanessa, Mikey, Micah and Natalie Jordan; step-great-grandchildren, Brantley and Zeke Overton, Lennox Limburg and Liam Lee; sisters, Diane Elizabeth Forrester (Leroy) and Jane Dale Fowler (Tommy), all of Easley; a brother, Roy Hampton Finley (Sherry) of Forest City, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends on Sept. 19 at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. The funeral service followed at Tremont Church of God. Burial followed at Robinson Memorial Gardens.

DEWAYNE ‘WAYNE’ C. MOORE
EASLEY — Dewayne “Wayne” C. Moore, 58, loving husband of 35 years to Phyllis A. Moore, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Moore was born July 4, 1963, a son of the late Claude Moore and Helen Moore Galloway. Wayne enjoyed spending time in his shop painting cars and doing auto body repair. He loved his family greatly, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Moore of the home; a daughter, Roxanne Bagwell (Thad) of Liberty; a son, Eric Moore (Amy) of Easley; five grandchildren, Dylan, Aubrey, Carsyn, Ava and Aiden; a sister, Ann Kidd; and three brothers, Tommy Moore, Jimmy Moore and Michael Moore.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was predeceased by an infant daughter; a sister, Diane Moore; and two brothers, William Moore and Timmy Moore.
A graveside service was held on Sept. 21 at Flat Rock Baptist Church cemetery, 115 Slab Bridge Road, Liberty, SC 29657.

LIBERTY — Samuel Martin Ford, 74, of Iselin Street, died on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at Prisma Health-Baptist Easley.
Born in Greenville, he was the widower of Linda Clark Ford and a son of the late Samuel Martin Ford Sr. and Ruby Watson Ford. He was a retired insurance salesman for Liberty Life Insurance Company. Sam was a Godly man who loved his Gamecocks and spending time with his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Norris.
Surviving are his sons, Marty Ford (Donna) of West Union and Clark Ford (Dede) of Liberty; a sister, Peggy Garner (Hugh) of Clemson; seven grandchildren, Cody Jackson (Hannah), Emily Ford, Morgan Pasut (Zico), Morgan Jackson, Parker Ford (Kodie), Erin Riddle (Justin) and Claire Ford (Clay); and two great-grandchildren, Rylee and Ellyson.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Ford were held in the Liberty Mortuary chapel on Sunday, Sept. 19, conducted by Rev. Jeremy Merck and Dr. Royce Addis.
