Honoring Christ for what He taught

It all came to a head one week in the spring of 33 A.D., or thereabouts.

The tension had been mounting for three years between the controversial preacher from a backwoods village called Nazareth and the self-righteous guardians of hard-hearted religiosity.

He had offended the wrong people. He was always breaking the rules — at least according to those hung up on technicalities.

A brutal form of execution awaited Him — and He knew it.

He had come to lift up the poor and the powerless, to heal the sick in body and spirit, and to expose the hypocrisy
