TIMOTHY SULLIVAN
PICKENS — Mr. Timothy Sullivan, 80, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022.
Mr. Sullivan was born on March 25, 1942, to the late Eugene and Margaret Sullivan. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where he taught Bible study and Sunday school, drove the bus for the children’s ministry and was on various church committees. Timothy owned his own electrical engineering business, Magnecomp Inc.
Timothy is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Virginia “Jill” Sullivan; two sons, Timothy Frazer Sullivan (Cindy) and Daniel Sullivan (Meagan); two daughters, Margaret Bouderka (Brahim) and Kayla Sullivan; 12 grandchildren, T.K., Spencer, Jack W., Vincent, Alexia Fallaha, Safia Bouderka, Carryanna, D’Ahna, Nevaeh, Jack K., Charlie and Ben; and a brother, Eugene Sullivan.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathleen Fallaha; one grandson, Jacob Fallaha; and one brother, Joseph Sullivan.

PHILIP NATHANIEL ‘NATHAN’ FLAUGHER
DACULA, Ga. — Philip Nathaniel Flaugher, 29, son of Philip E. Flaugher Jr. and Kathy A. Flaugher, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at his residence.
A native of Pickens County, Nathan was born on Dec. 22, 1992. He was a graduate of Clemson University and the vice president of Fine Homes of South Carolina Inc. Nathan enjoyed watching MMA, being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also loved being around his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, Philip E. Flaugher Jr. and Kathy A. Flaugher; his daughter, Emma Nichole Flaugher; the love of his life, Lindsay Heiss; his sisters, Suzanne Flaugher (Jim Liddle) and Stephanie Wright (Tim); his paternal grandparents, Philip E. Flaugher Sr. and Margaret A. Flaugher; his aunts and uncles, Randy Adcox (Dianne), Cynthia Adcox, Julia Cantrell, Tracy Foster (Johnny), Lisa Green (Jeff), Heidi Flaugher, Holly Daniel (Mel), Benjamin Flaugher and April McCall (Mac); 15 cousins; and several nieces and nephews, along with many other family members and friends.
Nathan was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Charles E. Adcox and Barbara D. Adcox; and his cousin, Alex Flaugher.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family in Nathan’s honor to his daughter, Emma Nichole Flaugher.
Funeral services were held on July 15 at Landmark Baptist Church. Burial followed the service at the Flaugher Family Cemetery.

KATIE GRANT TROTTER
PICKENS — Katie Grant Trotter, 87, loving wife of the late Bertrand Trotter, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
A native of Pickens County, Katie was born on May 26, 1935, the daughter of the late Fred F. Grant and Willie Mae Grant. Mrs. Trotter was a lifetime member of Porter’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Pickens.
Survivors include her children, Debbie Trotter Ellenburg (Wayne) and Linda Bowie (John), both of Pickens; grandchildren, Anna Davis (Rick), Dirk Ellenburg (Ashley) and Alex Bowie, all of Pickens; great-grandchildren, Sydney Davis, Bradi Kate Ellenburg and Graciana Ellenburg; brother, Doug Grant (Mary); sisters, Freddie Poterala and Jane Blackwell; and a sister-in-law, Gale Grant.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Trotter was predeceased by a sister, Judy Parker; and a brother, Pat Grant.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home in Pickens. Burial will take place following the service in Porter’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends following the burial.

WADE SHERWOOD BRYSON
LIBERTY — Wade Sherwood Bryson, 72, loving husband of 52 years to Bonnie Durham Bryson, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at his residence.
A native of Pickens County, Wade was born on May 4, 1950, the son of the late Eldon A. Bryson. Mr. Bryson was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, Bonnie, Mr. Bryson is survived by his children, Pam Gravley and Tim Bryson (Connie), both of Liberty; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jackie Bryson of Alabama.
Mr. Bryson was predeceased by his parents.
A memorial service was held on July 19 in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home in Pickens. A private inurnment will be held by the family at a later date.

B.J. WILSON
LIBERTY — B.J. Wilson, 70, died on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Prisma Health-Greenville Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.
Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of Lettie Mae Rousey Vickery Bailey and the late Lindsey Thomas Vickery.
Mrs. Wilson worked more than 20 years as an X-ray technician, starting first with Oconee Memorial Hospital and later at the Medical University of South Carolina. She finished her working career alongside her husband managing the office of their dental practice, Liberty Dental Care.
She was an avid gardener, who loved quilting, sewing and embroidery. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving, in addition to her mother of Hartwell, Ga, are her husband of 50 years, Dr. Lewis Wilson of the home; a daughter, Kelli Landreth of Liberty; two grandchildren, Casey Nix and Christoper Nix; two sisters, Mary Helen Mize of Bowman, Ga., and Martha Lane Bryan of Roswell, Ga.

ELIZABETH LOLLIS SHERIFF
EASLEY — Mrs. Elizabeth Adell “Grandma Hey” Lollis Sheriff, 94, wife of the late George Washington Sheriff, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Willie Hyson Lollis and the late Ethel Lee Blackwell Lollis, Mrs. Sheriff was a graduate of Liberty High School and retired from Sangamo Electric-Pickens with 31 years of service. She was a faithful longtime member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church, where she belonged to the Joy Sunday School Class.
Surviving are her son, Joe Donnie Sheriff (Barbara) of Easley; her two daughters, Carolyn S. Ross (Mike) and Cathy S. Vinson (Keith), both of Easley; her sister, Edith Reeves (Glenn) of Easley; her six grandchildren, Eric Sheriff (Dawn), Dean Ross (Stephanie), Allison Kirby (Jeff), Kelli Stuckey (J.B.), Andy Vinson (Bri) and Jacob Vinson; her step-grandchildren, David Chasteen (Cindy) and Keli Wright (Patrick); her 12 great-grandchildren, Connor Ross, Owen Ross, Taryn Ross, Taylor Stuckey, Caroline Stuckey, Wyatt Stuckey, Sydney Sheriff, Kaylie Grace Sheriff, Ashlyn Sheriff, Ryan Kirby, Brandon Kirby and Sarah Kirby; and her five step-great-grandchildren, David Chasteen, Julia Chasteen, Lydia Chasteen, Brady Wright and Jonathan Wright. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Sheriff was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Kathy Sheriff; and her two brothers, Ray Lollis and Charles Lollis.
Funeral services were held on July 19 at Geer Memorial Baptist Church, with Rev. Phil McAlister and Rev. Tony Lollis officiating. Burial followed at Westview Cemetery in Easley.

PICKENS — Lucille R. Alexander, 93, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
Lucille was born on Aug. 31, 1928, in Spartanburg, to the late Arthur and Annie Bryson Reese. She retired from Cornell Dubilier.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, Richard; one daughter, Pat Evett (Don) of Pickens; two grandsons, Randy Evett and Billy Evett (Delia); three great-granddaughters, Chelsea Lynch (Wes), Hillary Hyder (John) and Alex Alexander (Colby); one great-grandson, Bryson Evett; three great-great-grandchildren, Vera Lynch, Jack Hyder and Laykin Alexander.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
A private graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

MERILL ARLINN OWENS
PICKENS — Merill Arlinn “Doc” Owens, 82, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022, at his home.
Born on Jan. 20, 1940, in Lake Toxaway, N.C., he was the son of the late Troy and Thelma Hyatt Owens.
After serving our country gallantly in the United States Army, Merill worked at BASF Chemicals. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, wood carving and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Owens of Pickens; his son, Jeffrey Merill Owens (Karen) of Salem; siblings, Aaron Owens, Wandalee and Dean Evatt and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Chad and Courtney Owens, Leanne and Josh Perry, Jut and Miranda Owens, Nathan and Breanna Owens and Denay and Robert Bacon; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Landon, Taylor, Skylee, Corbin, Hudson, Chloe, Jonah, Cason and Colton.
In addition to his parents, Merrill was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Owens; siblings, Mildred Fricks and Charles Fricks, Linda and Floyd Geohagen, WC Owens, Dee Owens and Mary Owens.
A visitation was held on July 18 at Bethany Church of God. A funeral service was held the following day at Bethany Church of God, with burial following at Griffin Baptist Church cemetery.

DENNY STANSELL
EASLEY — Mr. Carl “Denny” Stansell, 61, husband of Susan Childress Stansell, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 17, 2022.
Born in Johnson City, Tenn., Mr. Stansell was a graduate of Pickens High School, attended Victory Baptist Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Denny was the owner and operator of Stansell Towing and Recovery for 28 years. He started his towing career with Tinsley Chevrolet in 1978 before starting his own business. He took pride in his job and made many friends through the years. He never met a stranger. He loved fishing and driving his restored Jeep, but his greatest love was for his God and family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 41 years, are his daughter, Stacy Stansell (Colt Braswell) of Walhalla; and his four sisters, Phyllis Lee of Easley, Vera Small (Irby) of Fair Play, Carla Gardner (George) of Piedmont and Kathy Campbell of Pickens. Mr. Stansell was predeceased by his parents, Carl Stansell and Anna Powell Smith.
A celebration of life was held on July 19 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. The service was livestreamed at robinsonfuneralhomes.com/downtown-chapel-live.
The family hosted an outside gathering at the home of Denny and Susan, following the service, at 306 Oakfield Ave., Easley, SC 29640.

SIX MILE — Casey Aaron Prince, 23, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022, at his home.
Born on April 22, 1999, in Greenville, he was the son of Earl Prince and Vickie Mosley.
In addition to his parents, Casey is survived by his wife, Faith Prince of Six Mile; daughter, Harlie Prince of Six Mile; and siblings, Scottie Prince, Kyle McMinn and Chase Mosley of Pickens.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Mountain View Funerals and Cremations Pickens.

MARVIN ‘GENE’ GARRETT
DACUSVILLE — Marvin “Gene” Garrett, 73, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at his home.
Born on Nov. 10, 1949, in Dacusville, he was the son of the late Cole Lamar and Gladys (Banks) Garrett.
Marvin was the owner of Dacusville Transmission and had a lifelong passion for music and playing the guitar.
He is survived by his children, Matthew Garrett (Ashley) of Dacusville and Hannah Garrett of Sumter; grandchildren, Alysha Evans, Kinsley Garrett, Kaleigh Garrett and Ally Childress; and siblings, Bobby Garrett and Vickie Clark.
In addition to his parents, Marvin is preceded in death by his wife, Julie Smith Garrett; daughters, Martha Gene Garrett of Dacusville and Lisa Diane Garrett of Travelers Rest; and his brother, Joey Melvin Garrett.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 22, at 3 p.m., at Grace Christian Fellowship, with a funeral service beginning at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary of Grace Christian Fellowship.

BOBBIE W. SEARCY
EASLEY — Barbara Waldrop “Bobbie” Searcy, 89, wife of 67 years to the late Randel F. “Pokey” Searcy, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 17, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late C. Bub Waldrop and Ella Mae Jones Waldrop.
Bobbie was a 1950 graduate of Easley High School and retired after 27 years with the School District of Pickens County in the food service program at Forest Acres Elementary School. She was a lifelong member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church and belonged to the Joy Sunday School Class.
Surviving are her children, Karen S. Nalley (Mike), Kathy Tripp, Phil Searcy (Kelley) and Scott Searcy (April), all of Easley. Bobbie was blessed to welcome nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren into her loving arms. She is also survived by a niece, Missy Waldrop Hunter (Bob); a nephew, Christopher Wayne Waldrop, both of Easley; and a special loving longtime adopted friend and daughter, Freida W. Gantt.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Teresa Lynn Searcy; a grandson, Jeremy Scott Searcy; a brother, Charles Wayne Waldrop; and a son-in-law, Jack H. Tripp.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, from 3-4:45 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with a memorial service to follow at 5 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

FRANCES S. ‘SUE’ CASSELL
SUNSET — Frances S. “Sue” Cassell, 75, loving wife of 35 years to Wilford Mitchell Cassell, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.
A native of Harlan County, Ky., Sue was born on Oct. 6, 1946, the daughter of the late Roy Wood and Elizabeth Day Wood. Mrs. Cassell was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church in Pickens.
She enjoyed cooking, reading, doing puzzles and doing for others. She often said it was her blessing to cook and give to those around her.
Survivors include her sisters, Ann Sanders of Anderson, Jo Ann Sanders of Pickens, Shirley Hendricks of Easley and Katie Davis of Harlan, Ky.; several nieces and nephews; a special niece, Sonja Reahard; a special great-niece, Kristen Mendez; and special great-great-nieces, Emma, Mia and Suzanna Mendez, who were the sunshine of her day.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cassell was predeceased by an infant daughter, Teresa; two sisters, Judy Chastain and Devolie Wood; and two brothers, Leroy Wood and Freddy Wood.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at the Holly Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
