Lloyd Lee Cantrell
Pickens — Lloyd Lee Cantrell, age 80, husband of Betty Robinson Cantrell, died Saturday June 15, 2013 at his home. Mr. Cantrell was born in Pickens County a son of the late Verdie Alexander Cantrell and Walter Troy Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He was retired from Ryobi in Pickens, a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, one daughter; Sherry Cantrell of Pickens, one son; Robin Cantrell of Pickens, two brothers; Ernest E. Cantrell of Sunset, Willie T. Cantrell of Monks Corner, several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cantrell was predeceased by his parents and one sister Mathree Warren.
Funeral Service was Monday, June 17 at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Dillard Funeral Home. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Rachel Coleman
Liberty — Rachel Gillespie Coleman, 75, widow of Charles Bernard Coleman, of 10 Pinewood Drive, died Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Liberty she was a daughter of the late Henry Grady and Mae Melton Gillespie. She operated the R&J Shop with her father for many years, and was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons and daughters in law, Greg and Cindy Coleman of Easley, and Matthew and Jane Coleman of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Dustin Coleman (Lauren) of South Bend, Ind., and Amanda Davis (Mark) of Anderson; one great granddaughter, Emma Davis; a sister, Mary “Bo” Davis of Liberty; a brother, Norman Gillespie of Moncks Corner.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred, Carl, and James Gillespie.
Funeral services to honor the life of Mrs. Coleman were 11 a.m. Saturday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial was at Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Roy Edward “Ed” Watkins
Easley — Mr. Roy Edward “Ed” Watkins, 87, husband of the late Carrie Roach Watkins, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Oconee County, a son of the late Rev. John William and Mary Harvey Watkins, Mr. Watkins retired as owner and operator of Watkins’ Auto Sales and was a member of Easley Church of God.
Surviving are a daughter, Joan Mullins of Easley; a brother, Carl Watkins of Easley; a grandson, Dusty Mullins (Tammy) of Jacksonville, N.C.; a granddaughter, Veronica Alfieri (Tony) of Atlanta; three great-grandchildren, Mandy Mullins, and Drew and Haley Alfieri; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Helen Land.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Watkins was predeceased by three brothers, Clem Watkins, Lloyd Watkins, and Joe Watkins; and two sisters, Mary Polly Watkins and Gladys Watkins Cape.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 18 at Easley Church of God with the Rev. Dr. David Sustar and the Rev. Steve Knight officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Escort of Honor was the senior adults of Easley Church of God.

Elizabeth B. Rogers
CLEMSON — Elizabeth Courtney Bowers Rogers, 44, of 115 Pleasant View Drive, died Saturday, June 15, 2013 in Orangeburg.
Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of Jim and Brenda Williams Bowers of Clemson. Beth was a chef and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of Atlanta. She attended University of Georgia and was a member of First Baptist Church of Clemson.
Surviving in addition to her parents are two sons, Noah Maxwell Rogers and Holden Williams Rogers both of the home.
She was predeceased by her husband Brian Stattelman.
A private service will be held at a later date.

Patricia Bowie Henderson
Easley — Patricia Bowie Henderson, 68, died Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Sanford, Fla., a daughter of the late James Owen and Kathryn Moore Bowie, Patricia retired from sales and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Erica Zell Smith and Dinah Kathryn Webb, both of Easley; a sister, Judy Dale of Minnesota; five grandchildren, Greg Smith, Justin Smith, Candace Smith, Carson Henderson, and Levi Webb; and one great-grandchild, Eric Smith.
Private graveside services will be held in Westview Cemetery, Easley at a later date.

Lee Vernon Smith
Easley — Mr. Lee Vernon Smith, 81, husband of Joan Adams Smith, died Friday, June 14, 2013 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Greenville, to the late Julius and Hazel Ward Smith, Lee graduated from Maudlin High School and afterwards, enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he returned home to work at Durham Life as an insurance sales manager, where he retired after 25 years of service. He went on to work as a security guard for Pinkerton for 20 years. Lee was a member of Landmark Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Treasurer and was a past teacher of the Junior Boys Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Gideon’s and enjoyed any chance to be outdoors.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Wendell Smith (Melinda) of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Teresa Porter (Kerry) of Pickens; three grandchildren, Hayley and Samantha “Sammy” Smith, and Meghan “Meggie” Porter.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Stephany Grace Porter; and two brothers, Adolph and Charles Smith.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Corey L. Young
Easley — Mr. Corey Livingston Young, 33, died Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Easley, to David L. and Judy Aiken Young, Corey was a graduate of Easley High School and gained his residential building inspector certificate from Tri-County Technical College.
He was of the Church of God faith and was employed by P&L Enterprises. Corey loved listening to music, going camping, being with his friends, and enjoying life in general.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Bryan Young (Janice) of Six Mile, and Scott Davis (Crystal) of Liberty; and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Sudie Aiken of Easley.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Gartrell and Irene Boggs Young.
Graveside services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 19 in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Melba M. Hendricks
Liberty — Melba Carol McClain Hendricks, 52, of Forest view Circle, died Saturday, June 15, 2013 at her home.
Born in Greenville County, a daughter of Betty Murphy McClain of Easley and the late Mac McClain, Mrs. Hendricks was formerly employed with EPC.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are two daughters, Kenna Hendricks of Liberty and Amanda Hendricks of Ohio; a sister, Sherry Morris; and a grandson, Kaegan Hendricks.
Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
