DORIS HOLCOMBE
LIBERTY — Mrs. Doris Holcombe, 81, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
Mrs. Holcombe was born in Pickens on May 8, 1943, to the late Walt and Mae Bell Gillespie Wardlaw. She enjoyed bingo and going to yard sales and finding a great bargain.
Mrs. Holcombe is survived by one daughter, Tina Hanscomb; six grandchildren, Ansley Coleman, Gavin Coleman, Cory Hall, Jesse Hall, Amanda McGinnis and Doris Ann Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Eli McGinnis, Ashton Hall and Cali Hall; and one sister, Betty Plumbly.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holcombe was preceded in death by three daughters, Debbie Lynn Chapman, Sylvia Jane Kelly and Linda Ann Hall.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her two nieces and nephew, Rita Faye Gorman, Bobbie Harris and Joey McCall, for helping take care of Mrs. Holcombe.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. July 17 in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service from 1:45-2:45 p.m. in the garden room.
ROY DEAN ‘LEROY’ GALLOWAY
EASLEY — Roy Dean “Leroy” Galloway, 68, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born Oct. 12, 1955, in Pickens County, Roy was the son of the late Calvin Alvoid Galloway Sr. and Ina Estell Ridley Galloway. Mr. Galloway was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. He liked watching TV shows, especially “Heartland.” He also liked taking walks in the neighborhood and playing games on his phone.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mary Jo Kelley of Greenville; a sister, Patsy Duncan of Greenville; a special fishing buddy, Jeremy Emerson; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Galloway was predeceased by three sisters, Imogene Bearden, Jane Holcombe and Geraldine Bearden; a brother, Calvin Alvoid Galloway Jr.; a niece, Beulah Dale Harden; and two nephews, Daryl Bearden and B.J. Galloway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Roy’s honor may be made to a local Cancer Society – Liver Institute.

RUBY LEE DODGENS GALLOWAY
EASLEY — Ruby Lee Dodgens Galloway, 84, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
Born on Feb. 20, 1940, she was the loving wife of 39 years to Floyd James Galloway and daughter of the late Jessie Lee Dodgens and Mallie Allene Crenshaw Dodgens.
Mrs. Galloway is remembered by her friends and family for her love of baking, especially wedding cakes, and sewing.
In addition to her husband, Ruby is survived by her grandchildren, Tabitha Turner Hawkins of Cateechee and Ricky David Turner of Pickens; sister, Barbara D. Hunter of Easley; stepson, Ron Galloway (Debra) of Easley; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Allene Turner of Easley; and siblings, Thalia D. Trotter of Pickens and Jesse Dodgens Jr. of Michigan.
Flowers are accepted.
Funeral services were held on July 16, followed by a graveside committal at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

TIMOTHY OWEN SIMPSON
EASLEY — Timothy Owen Simpson, 72, loving husband of Rita Simpson, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024.
Born Aug. 23, 1951, in Greenville, Tim was the son of the late Alvin Simpson and Juanita Owens Simpson. Mr. Simpson graduated from Easley High School in 1969 and attended Southern Wesleyan University. He was a lifetime member of St. Andrew Methodist Church in Easley. Tim’s passion was music. Tim loved to sing and was a member of St. Andrew choir until his recent health problems. Tim retired from Ruby Tuesday and also worked at the Smoking Pig.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Simpson of the home; stepson, Jason Hendrix (Christy) of Easley; stepdaughter, Jennifer Styles (Jed) of Travelers Rest; step-granddaughter, Katie (Dillon); a step-great-granddaughter; sister, Sandra Johnson of Easley; brother, Al Simpson of Spartanburg; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Simpson was predeceased by a sister, Lou Ann Reid.
A memorial service will be announced by the family soon.

NICOLE DIANE BURRELL
LIBERTY — Nicole Diane Burrell, 53, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at her home.
Born Dec. 8, 1970, in Pickens County, Nicole was the daughter of the late Ray Collins and Linda Wilson Collins. Nicole enjoyed going out to eat on Friday nights. She loved going to the lake and spending time with her boyfriend, Jackie.
Survivors include her boyfriend, Jackie Dodgins of Liberty; a daughter, Misty Michelle Collins of Seneca; and a brother, Michael Ray Collins.
Mrs. Burrell was predeceased by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. July 18 in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home in Pickens, with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted.

ALBERT “AL” K. COUCH JR.
PENDLETON — Albert “Al” K. Couch Jr., 55, loving husband of 35 years to Angela Bearden Couch, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at his home in Pendleton.
Born Oct. 30, 1968, in Easley, Al was the son of the late Albert K. Couch Sr. and Patsy Finley Couch.
Al loved people, and he never met a stranger. He loved to farm and loved animals, especially his dog, Casper. Al loved Jesus and his family dearly.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Bearden Couch of the home; daughter, Amanda Stegall (Frank) of Easley; son, Jacob Couch (Courtney) of Pendelton; grandchildren, Jessie, Nathan, Noah and Raelynn; brothers, Devoe Couch, Randy Couch and Eugene Couch; and a sister, Alicia Stancil (Dale).
In addition to his parents, Mr. Couch was predeceased by a sister, Pamela Couch.
The family will hold a memorial service at 1 p.m. July 19 in the sanctuary of Mount Tabor Baptist Church, 5901 SC Highway 187, Anderson, SC 29625.
