• Six Mile Christmas Parade set for Dec. 7

 The Town of Six Mile will hold its 43rd annual Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10:30 a.m. The parade started by the youth of the community continues to be a big event in the town.

• Bethany to host Thanksgiving service

Bethany Church of God, located on Hagood Mill Road in Pickens, will host a community Thanksgiving service on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Service time is 7 p.m., and everyone is welcome.

• Canning class set for November 15

Just in time for the holidays, a hands-on waterbath canning class that focuses on preserving season jams and holiday sauces is planned in Pickens.

The class is to be held Nov. 15, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the Pickens County Extension office, located at 222 West Main St. in Pickens. The cost is $30. To register, contact Adair Hoover at (864) 656-9999.
