Is anybody keeping score?
On The Way

It’s a shame there isn’t a way to scan all candidates for office to determine their level of integrity, statesmanship and ability to serve well.
Perhaps the interior of their mouths could be swabbed and sent to a lab for evaluation of physical, mental and emotional conditions.
All those who were disqualified from running could then become snake oil salesmen, reality show stars or join the Mafia.
We’d probably get a lot better batch of “leaders” working together for the betterment of our nation than what is there now.
This batch of cookies is indeed half-baked, and someone left the sugar out of the dough.
At home, while we ponder the status of our economy, education system and energy solutions, we are bombarded online with requests from both parties to contribute money to fight the enemy, who, in this case, is each other.
People, you are already paid very well for a job you’re not doing. I won’t donate a single dime to any elected representative or political party.
We’re already paying on several levels for the embarrassing behavior of the crazies who are willing to allow our country to stumble through manufactured crisis after crisis so they can vilify the other side and win.
Win what? From where we sit nobody’s winning.
Don’t send any more form letters detailing your accomplishments or asking for support. Don’t tell us how you are protecting our interests and keeping America free.
None of you are representing me, and frankly I’m no longer interested in your shenanigans.
It appears you aren’t representing the best interests of anyone.
Usually in a war, and we seem to be in one, each side is committed to the greater good, and although they may disagree as to the best solution they both offer solutions.
And no, we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. I for one am thankful for it. It’s disgusting enough to know what’s going on out in the open for all to see.
I’ve seen the recent surveys that show many Americans want to get rid of every person serving in the house and the senate and start over with a totally clean slate.
Maybe representatives could be selected the same way jurors are notified to show up for court duty. Pull the names out of a hat or allow a computer to pick names at random. Those chosen could show up and serve. When the term was up, another group could be selected. It certainly couldn’t be any worse that what we have now.
