EASLEY—Easley High School has announce their Class of 2013 athletic hall of fame inductees. The group will be inducted at half time during this Friday night’s home game against J.L. Mann.

Below are the members of the class.

David Hunter

A 1973 graduate of Easley High School, David participated in both the football and track teams. During his senior season he had over 100 tackles. David was a member of the 1972 AAAA State Championship Football Team. As the starting Nose Guard on the State Championship Team, David earned several honors in his career including Defensive Player of the Year, Upstate Player of the Week. As a member of the Green Wave Track Team he participated in the 440 yard spring and the 4 x 4 Relay Team. David has served as an assistant girls’ basketball coach for both Gettys Middle School and Easley High School. David has coached basketball teams for a variety of organizations, including Easley Department of Recreation, the YMCA, AAU Teams, and church leagues. Additionally, David coached Easley Booster Club’s Little League Football Team. Outside of sports David held several positions with the PTA and School Improvement Councils at Forest Acres Elementary and Getty Middle Schools. David has also served as the Youth Coordinator for his church, Easley Chapel United Methodist Church.

Hank Parks

A 2000 graduate of Easley High School, Hank participated in both football and baseball earning All-Region Honors in both sports. He earned All-Region Honors in Football his senior year and in all 3 years of his high school baseball career. He was All-State 3 years in Baseball. He was also named Best Offensive Player all 3 years hitting 24 career home runs for the Green Wave. Hank also played for the American Legion Post 52 Baseball Team having 56 career home runs including 20 in one season. He continued his baseball career at Spartanburg Methodist College and South Carolina. While at SMC, he was First Team All American, hittting 35 homeruns including 25 in one season. While at USC, he was a member of the 2004 SEC Championship Team and participated in the 2003 and 2004 College World Series.

Tessa Cook Taylor

A 2001 graduate of Easley High School, Tessa participated in both Track and Cross Country. During her career, she was named All-Region, All-State, and Pickens County Champion. While in high school, Tessa was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Homecoming Court. Upon graduation from high school, she received a scholarship to Furman University where she participated in Track and Cross Country as well. She was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll 4 straight years at Furman. After her graduation from Furman, Tessa served as the assistant coach for the Track and Field Team as well as the Cross Country Team at Furman. She is married to Garison Taylor and they have two children.

Randall Wood

A 1967 graduate of Easley High School, Randall played baseball for the Green Wave in 1966 and 1967. He served in the 101^st Airborne Division in Vietnam and served with the 3^rd Armored Division in Germany. Upon returning home, he began giving back to Easley High School in 1972 by serving as a member of the Easley Chain Gang alongside his father, Charles Wood. He has been a member of the chain gang for 41 years and in those 41 years he has only missed 2 home games. Randall was a member of the Easley Football Jamboree Committee. Randall also severed as President of the Green Wave Booster Club in 1986. He is a member of the American Legion Post 11 and Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Ray Scott

A 1993 graduate of Easley High School, Ray played baseball and football. Ray was a 5 year starter in baseball earning 5 letters and earned 4 letters in football as a member of the varsity football team. In football, he received honors including All-Area, Best Blocker, Special Teams Player of the Year, All-Region and All-State as a punter. In baseball, Ray was named all county in 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1993 while being named Pickens County Player of the Year in 1993. Following his senior season for the Green Wave Baseball Team, he was also named Easley High Most Valuable, All-Region, and was selected to participate in the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association North-South All Star Game. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 52 Baseball Team where he received awards including Best Defense, Best Pitcher, and Most Valuable Player. During his career with Easley High Baseball and Post 52 Baseball, Ray played 203 games, with a batting average of .345 and a slugging % of .474. His pitching records include 70 appearances with a combined record of 45 wins, 15 losses and 5 saves.

After high school, Ray earned a baseball scholarship to Anderson Junior College and then Clemson University. Ray was a member of 1996 Clemson Tiger World Series Team. His pitching record in college was 20 wins and 10 losses. He graduated from Clemson University in 1998 with a degree in accounting.

He is married to the former Wendy Protzman of Easley and they have 3 children.
