COUNTY — Baseball registration has now opened at the Pickens YMCA and will end April 17.

Late registration will be April 18-24. All practices and games are held at the Pickens YMCA, located at 2223 Gentry Memorial Hwy.

Coed divisions offered are Tee-ball (4-6 yrs old) and Coaches Pitch (7-9 yrs old).  Jersey, cap and trophy are provided as part of the registration fee and kept by the players. Costs are $45 for members and $75 for non-members. An additional $10 late fee is applied during late registration dates.

The YMCA program not only focuses on baseball skills and play, but character development as well. Christian teaching and principles are a core part of the program.

“We strive to develop more than just physical ability,” officials said. “We hope that all involved will be impacted through spirit, mind and body through our baseball program.”

Sponsorships and volunteer coach opportunities are available. Registrations can be made at either the Easley or Pickens YMCA as well as online at www.pcymca.net.
