Barbara T. Godshall
Easley — Barbara Trotter Godshall, 68, of Easley, died March 1, 2011 after a long struggle with cancer.
Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Eula Jones Trotter. Barbara was a retired beautician and a member of Griffin Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Michael V. Godshall; her brothers and sister, Bill Trotter; Sybil Pilgrim; John Trotter and Calvin Trotter; and her niece and nephews, Sherry Burrell; Philip Trotter and Michael Trotter.
Graveside services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Rickey Dale Martin
Easley — Mr. Rickey Dale Martin, 52, died Monday, March 1, 2011 in North Augusta.
Born in Oconee County, a son of Charlene Stephens Hatfield and the late Houston Martin, Mr. Martin was employed with Brooks Painting.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife, Carolyn Cantrell Martin of Easley; two daughters, Brandy Martin Kilgen and Nikki Martin, both of Easley; three brothers, Tony and Randy Martin, both of Liberty and Barry Martin of Central; one sister, Dana Martin of Greenville; three grandchildren and a special friend Sandra Moore of Central.
In addition to his father, Mr. Martin was predeceased by a daughter, Carrie Martin.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5 in Abbott Cemetery, Liberty.

Daniel M. Hayes
Pickens — Daniel M. “D.M.” Hayes, 84, of 313 Trotter Road, and widower of Mildred H. Hayes, died Thursday morning, March 3, 2011 at Majesty Health and Rehab of Easley.
A lifelong resident of Pickens, he was born on Dec. 12, 1926 the son of the late Daniel Moses Hayes and Bessie M. Lafoy Hayes. He was retired from the Ryobi plant in Pickens and was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Hayes was a pilot and photographer and was an avid aerial photographer. Many of his photos adorn the walls of Pickens County homes and businesses. Mr. Hayes proudly served his country during World War II aboard ship in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include daughters, Linda Breazel (John) of Pickens, Kathy Brooks (Kimbel) of Greensboro, Ga., and his son, Dennis Hayes (Kathy) of Easley. Also surviving are grandchildren, Mandi Pace of El Paso, Texas, Matt Pace (Brandi) of Pickens, Kevin Breazel (Summer) of Norris and Eric Breazel (Ellen) of Clemson. Great grandchildren include Gage Pace, Chelsea Breazel, and Meredith Turner. Also three Step-Grandsons, seven step great grandchildren and one step great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, John R. Hayes of Pickens.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by sisters Leander Dodgens and Inez Hughes, brother Elbert Hayes and half brothers J. D. Hayes, Clero Hayes and Dewey Hayes.
Funeral services for Mr. Hayes were held on Sunday, March 6 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with Dr. Buddy Moore officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.

Terry Jack ‘Jacky’ Hellams
Easley — Terry Jack “Jacky” Hellams, 62, of Easley, died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at his home.
Born Feb. 25, 1949 in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Oscar and Iv Garrett Hellams. He retired from the City of Easley Public Works Department and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Hellams is survived by his long time companion, Judy Murphy Brissey, sons, Daryl Hellams and wife, Taffie, Michael Brissey and wife, Amy; daughters, Lisa James, Terri White, Christine Burgess, Cindy Stancil and husband, Tommy, and Kayla Crawford and husband, Ranzie; sisters, Juanita Huffman, Nettie Whitaker, and Barbara Whitaker; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Hellams; and a sister, Laura Rendon.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

John W. Casey
Williamston — John Wilbur Casey, 66, of Williamston died Friday, March 4, 2011 at his home.
John was born in Marietta a son of the late Leroy Casey, Sr. and the late Ruby Holbert Casey. He was a retired painter and formerly employed with Liberty Denim.
Survivors include his wife Ruby Belcher of the home, sisters, Shirley Jones, Janie Kilgore, Mary Raines, and Katherine McCarthy and brothers Thomas Casey, Leroy Casey, James Casey, and Douglas Casey.
No services will be held.

Michael Henderson
Easley — Michael Dale Henderson, 56, of 108 Collins Street, died Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Baptist Hospital Easley.
Born in Cobbs Creek, Va. a son of the late Mims Henderson and the late Katherine Berry, Mr. Henderson retired as a firefighter and EMT with Greenville County and was a member of Arial United Methodist Church where he belonged to the Church Sunday School Class and was a member of the church choir. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his wife, Judith Crum Henderson of the home; two daughters, Danielle Henderson and April Stewart, both of Easley, two brothers, Tommy and Phil Henderson, both of Virginia; a sister, Becky Gilbert of Virginia; two grandchildren, C.J. and Sara Stewart; and his in-laws, Ross and Peggy Crum of Six Mile.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Roger Gwinn officiating.

Barbara Joyce Hiott
Easley — Barbara Joyce Hiott, 70, of 105 N. Rhome Court, died Sunday March 6, 2011 at her home.
Born in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of Otis Nelson Lynch and the late Winnie Grace Lyda Lynch. She was a homemaker and attended Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her father of Simpsonville; her children, Rhonda (Ted) Shehan and Denise Bagwell, all of Pickens; Chuck (Dene) Carlisle of Simpsonville; and Keith Carlisle of Texas; her brothers and sister, Bill Lynch; Virginia Smith; George Lynch and Joe Lynch; eight grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Allen Hiott; her daughter, Tonya Michelle Hiott; two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

W. Robert Crenshaw
Pickens — William Robert Crenshaw, 82, of 534 Mile Creek Road, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Salem he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Mary Cantrell Crenshaw. He was a retired industrial sewing machine mechanic, and he also loved farming. Mr. Crenshaw was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, where he was the Senior Men’s Sunday School Teacher, and was a former deacon.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred H. Crenshaw of the home; a daughter, Lisa Holder (Rickey) of Pickens; three sons, Randy Crenshaw (Sandra), Roger Crenshaw (Jean), and Aaron Crenshaw all of Pickens; a step daughter, Carolyn McEntire of Pelzer; three step sons, Steve Hughes of Liberty, Donnie Hughes of Gaffney, and Ronnie Hughes of Sanford, N.C.; a sister, Janie Brennan of Mauldin; seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Jane Derrick Crenshaw, a grandson, Eric Crenshaw, a sister, Jessie Winchester, and a brother, Clarence Crenshaw.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Crenshaw were 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Liberty Mortuary Chapel. Burial was at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Nancy Louise Revis
Easley — Nancy Louise Revis died Sunday March 6, 2011 at 11 a.m. Nancy was finally overcome by the complications acquired from a recent fall and the disease of Rheumatoid arthritis she had fought for years.
Nancy was born on Oct. 3, 1938 to loving parents Furman and Floride Rankin. Nancy was the oldest and had two precious sisters Patricia and Barbara. Nancy touched so many more lives than those listed and was loved by everyone that knew her. All that met Nancy carried a piece of her heart with them. Nancy’s beauty over flowed, inside and out. She will be greatly missed, but her love of family will carry on in all who were blessed to know her. Peace be with you Mom, we all LOVE YOU and because of your influence we along with many others will see you again soon!
Nancy is survived by her son Tim W. Revis and his wife Lisa, her granddaughter Jenna, grandsons Adam and Marius, nephew and niece Brian and Angie.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. on Thursday at Westville Funeral Home. The celebration service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Westville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Rankin officiating.

Ronnie R. Burns
Clarksville, Tenn. — SFC (Ret) Ronnie R. Burns, 64, Clarksville, Tenn. died Saturday, March 5, 2011 at his residence.
Mr. Burns was born Dec. 5, 1946 in Liberty and was the son of the late, Styles and Phoebe Owens Burns. He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran and a retired management technician with Bosch after 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Brigitte Eidt Burns, Clarksville, Tenn.; daughters, Monica (MSG Alan) Steele, Hawaii, Michele Bargel, Clarksville, Tenn.; five brothers, Charles, Gene, Alvin, and Tommy of Liberty and Wayne of Easley; three sisters, Sarah Simmons of Greenville, Brenda Holliday of Easley, and Ann Becknell of Liberty; and two granddaughters, Melissa Venezia and Carli Bargel.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Burns was predeceased by two brothers, Styles Burns Jr. and Jimmy.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel. Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, Hopkinsville, Ky., with full military honors.

Ann Dacus
Easley — Dorothy Ann Dacus, 79, of 115 Skyland Drive, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at the McCall Hospice House.
Born in Easley, Miss Dacus was a daughter of the late Henry Ervin Dacus, Sr. and the late Margaret Elizabeth Rogers Dacus. She graduated from Easley High School in 1949 and Texas State College for Women in 1953 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science. Miss Dacus worked in the libraries at Chowan College and Mars Hill College before retiring from Greenville County Schools as the head cataloguer. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a brother, James R. Dacus, of the home; a sister, Margaret Elizabeth Chick, of Villa Rica, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Mary Reid Dacus of Piedmont; three nieces, Andrea Dacus, Beverly Norton, and Mary Ann Hunt; and one nephew, Mike Dacus.
In addition to her parents, Miss Dacus was predeceased by a brother, Henry Ervin Dacus, Jr.; a brother-in-law, Harold Chick; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Dacus.
Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, where the family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Judy Cole Sweet
Pickens — Judy Cole Sweet, 70, of 109 Poinsett Avenue, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Cullowhee, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Jack and Belinda Smith Cole. She retired from Cannon Memorial Hospital; and was a member of Pickens First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her two sons, Ed (Beverly) Sweet and Clay Sweet; a granddaughter, Nikki Bryson; and two brothers, Mike (Patti) Cole; and Sammy Cole.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Edward “Cotton” Sweet.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 2:30 – 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

RAVEN ALANIA STANCELL
EASLEY — Raven Alania Stancell, 9, of Easley died March 4, 2011 from injuries sustained in a wreck in Pickens.
She was the daughter of Kenneth Michael Stancell and Mary Elizabeth Miller.
Raven was a 3rd grade student at Ambler Elementary who loved reading and butterflies, was always smiling and loved her big brothers with all her heart even when they teased her and tickled her.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by brothers, Jase Miller and Josh Stancell; maternal grandmother, Deborah Miller; uncles, Ronnie Stancell, Johnny Miller and Mikey Miller; aunts, Regina George, Missy Miller and Betty Stancell; numerous cousins; and her loving godmother, Martha Baker and her daughter, Dani.
The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Westville Funeral Home in Greenville.
The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eddie Cox and Rev. Roy McCall officiating. Burial will be in Graceland West Cemetery.
