Peoples National Bank honored with ABA community bank award

UPSTATE — The Peoples National Bank was nationally recognized for its community outreach efforts during the American Bankers Association National Conference for Community Bankers in San Diego on Feb. 22.

The Peoples National Bank was awarded for its endeavors in the “Outstanding Service to Our Community” category.

The Peoples National Bank has found great value in becoming involved with various organizations throughout the Upstate community. Whether it is by volunteering time, collecting needed items or providing financial support, The Peoples National Bank has contributed to the needs of such organizations as Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Prevent Child Abuse, Alzheimer’s and Fragile Children. Helping others is just one way that The Peoples National Bank gives back to the community.

Entries were divided into seven categories including helping to achieve homeownership, encouraging volunteerism, fundraising for foundations and local groups, improving financial literacy, reaching out to the underserved, building with Habitat for Humanity and revitalizing your community.

The ABA Community Bank Awards program was established in 2005 to recognize community banks’ outstanding charitable achievements.
