Spring workshop with Christina Laurel planned at county museum
PICKENS — The Pickens County Museum of Art and History announced recently that registration is still open for a special workshop with award-winning instructor Christina Laurel.
On May 24, Laurel will hold “Graphite Expanded” from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This class, designed for adults, will beheld in the Liz Smith-Cox Educational Studio.
Delve into your personal style by expanding upon traditional mark-making techniques with Laurel.
Learn to use the grid system, how to apply powdered and water-soluble graphite, and draw with technical pens. Then, combine graphite and pen to create a mixed-media drawing.
Bring an 8″x10″ black and white printout of a photograph of a favorite face, landscape, or still life. Other materials provided. Class size is minimum four students, maximum eight.
Tuition for this class is only $80 ($70 for museum members). Pre-registration is required and must be paid by May 22.

Tuition may be paid by cash, check or charge. Make check payable to the Pickens County Museum or call the Museum to use your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express. Workshops will be held at the Pickens County Museum, 307 Johnson Street in Pickens. Full Tuition must be paid before session. Students will be notified if a workshop is cancelled or filled. If cancelled, all tuition will be reimbursed to registered student. No tuition will be reimbursed after date of this workshop.
